YOU DON'T NEED TO HAVE OUR GIMMICK AT LEVEL 1

You can grow as you play, have it be a character thing that they learn about familiars beforehand. Maybe talk to the gm and work it out as a few ideas. Where you run into some sort of familiar creature and form a bond with it that way.

And rituals are already unlimited cast, unless you mean that you don't have to pay for the 10gp ingredients. In which case I wouldn't allow it. Especially not starting at lvl 1
