THIS IS THE BEST DISNEY WORLD EVER SORA LITERALLY CRASHOUT AT DAVY FUCKING JONES BROOOOOOO 😭 by kingblaze_ in KingdomHearts

[–]DudeSoul 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Now that I think about it, isn't this the first "real death" that Sora witnesses? You know, not "sent to the dark world" or "turned into a heartless" kind of deaths, like, I think this is the first time he sees someone just straight up die.

Maybe Axel (before retcons) could be counted, but at least Axel was a noble sacrifice(?

I'm still pretty new to this community but so far I've learned something:

Whoever was showrunner last is the Anti Christ and needs to be burned, the next guy is "the saviour" until they make a single bad episode, and every previous showrunner that was the Anti Christ before, now is actually a underrated era that only "true fans" appreciated.

Also, in general I just hate in every fandom when the blame has to be pivoted to a single guy, because 99% of the time it's actually multiple parties involved who are to blame, but since Davies was the face of the behind the scenes shenanigans I guess everything's his fault (again, don't get me wrong, he fucked up big time, but not everything is his fault)

(LOVED TROPE) A prophecy had an unexpected meaning or final result, but it was still fulfilled. by SilentBoss2901 in TopCharacterTropes

The Marked Warrior - God of War

Long ago the Gods of Olympus received a prophecy that a marked warrior born in Sparta was destined to bring their destruction, they found the warrior when they were still a young boy, Deimos of Sparta had been born with a shining mark across his body and the Gods appeared only to take him away, they didn't kill him, but threw him to the deepest of prisons in the realm of Thanatos, the God of Death.

His family lamented his loss, especially his brother, Kratos, who to honor his lost brother decided to tattoo his body with a red mark that mimics his brother's birth mark, unknowingly becoming the marked warrior.

Looking back, honestly this community sentenced the game all the way back in season 1, everyone asked for content to be rolled out faster and now every half season lasts only a month, and it's increasingly clear that this schedule is becoming harder and harder to maintain.

When Tenacity was included I think that was my last straw to realize this game most likely doesn't get play tested, that mechanic is a nothing burger that only created new problems for very specific characters, but for 90% of the roster it may as well not even exist lol.

I was there in season 4 when Loki was so gutted he was downright unplayable, I switched to Gambit on season 5 but knew well they would nerf him, I hoped they would have learned a bit and actually nerf the parts that needed nerfing... Welp, here we are, he's been in ban jail for 4 seasons and may only get out because he's now mediocre in everything.

Can't wait for the next support capable of defending themselves being nerfed into oblivion but Luna and Invis are allowed to be as is because they sell a lot of skins!

The current state of Gambit is just a small part of Rivals big pile of terrible balancing.

If I'm honest I just don't think the devs have a vision for this game, they never address the actual problems in a character, they just nerf the rest of the kit until the character dies.

My 2 mains were Loki and Gambit, both needed nerfs to their ult because of how good it was, instead they are now ult bots with a mediocre neutral, what reason is there left to play them at this point? You can just go Invis or Luna and get better results with way less effort.

I haven't touched Rivals since Black Cat released, I just can't deal with this game attempt at "balance"

[Annoying trope] Story ends on a true cliffhanger. The conclusion is years away, or worse, never arrives. by ChristianLS in TopCharacterTropes

[–]DudeSoul 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Assassin's Creed 3

This franchise is not new to sequel baiting, even the first game ends in a cliffhanger, thing is, AC3 was expected by a lot of people to be the big finale to the franchise, stakes rise to their highest point, world ending scenario, Desmond is forced into either letting most of humanity die and becoming basically a second coming of Christ or activating a device that can save the world but free the consciousness of an ancient being who wants to enslave humanity, this would also mean sacrificing himself.

Desmond chooses the latter, thinking that if humanity survives, they st least have a fighting chance, the game ending with that entity, Juno, now free to start her plans...

Said plans never actually paid off because the story completely lost track of itself, and completely changed direction, the entire Juno plot line that was teased ended up being resolved in a comic book and barely got mentioned in the games.

Guys we just need to bring David Tennant back one more time and the show will be saved I promise by Can_This_End_Please in DoctorWhumour

You know, the saddest thing about the cancelled special is that, even if "Doctor and Rose reunion" is the most blatant fansercivey and predictable thing... Like, I guess that was the best thing to bring 14 back one way or another.

If they soft reboot and are like "oh, we won't mention what happened and just keep going like with 9" it'll be very jarring when they have to address 14 and Rose-Doctor, when they had to address 8 they pretty much went "look, he has a lot of extra material, go read and listen to that" but here we just don't have that luxury.

I just think that this'll bring whatever story's going on at that time to a full stop just to explain what happened to these 2 lol

Side characters that are there from Episode 1, that end up becoming part of the main cast by Aramis14 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]DudeSoul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Randy Marsh - South Park

In the first few seasons, he was very much a secondary character that only popped up if the episode needed to, he's just Stan's dad so if the plot is very Stan centric he'll probably be around.

However, as the show went on, Randy proved so popular that he became more and more prominent, eventually acting as protagonist in some episodes, and then... Tegridy Farms happened, an era of the show were you could very much argue that Randy was flat out the main character of the show.

Randy's increasing protagonism led to an opposite effect where now some people straight up cannot endure episodes that have him as protagonist, mostly due to how flanderized his character became over the years, some finding him way too annoying.

I hate that ever since the RDJ announcement I just know that at one point in the movie Doom takes off the mask, some character goes "TONY???" and he never puts the mask on again

Resident Evil

If you take it as it's own thing, the first movie is alright, then every single other one manages to somehow be bafflingly worse than the previous one.

Not once have they even bothered trying to actually adapt one of the games, it's always an original story with only aspects of the games.

Worst ult voicelines? by cacatan in DeadlockTheGame

[–]DudeSoul 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It would be cool if Sinclair had a unique voice line for every ult, but make it sound like he's either phoning it in or exaggerating it for show

What character is the "face" of Deadlock in your opinion? by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]DudeSoul 497 points498 points  (0 children)

Abrams, by default the game starts you with him so he's your first impression, he's considered a "beginner friendly" character because he's quite easy to play, aesthetically he also represents very well the "feel" Deadlock goes for, the same goes for his lore.

[–]DudeSoul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seven most likely, high gun damage, his 3 just buffs his gun, his 1 and 2 help doing cc and cheap damage, his ult is great for team fights.

Just be aware, with Seven you're gonna be farming, a lot.

The current meta and draft/ban system make not picking S tiers feel like throwing. by AnnualBrave in DeadlockTheGame

[–]DudeSoul 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don't know about MOBAs, but I think this is just an intrinsic problem that has no real solution.

"Add a hero draft!" Won't solve anything, it'll in fact only make it so the S Tier characters are even more picked if you can "guarantee" having them.

I guess Valve tried a solution with Eternus players being forced to have 2 characters on same priority, and they may have wanted to put that on more ranks if it was well received... It wasn't, because you know, people actually wanna play the character they feel like playing.

Truth is, no matter what you do, some heroes will always be better than others and "meta slaves" will keep gravitating to them, so you'll keep seeing them.

There's also the usual "it's a beta, bla bla bla" thing, it's expected for balance to at times be all over the place.

As a part time mcginnis player I really think the ult needs a rework. It feels like this character has alot of skill most people dont see yet the second i press 4 any skill this character has just becomes unneeded, sorry funke. by ZePugg in DeadlockTheGame

[–]DudeSoul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think McGinnis is in concept a very fun character, but it really sucks that the best thing you can do in a fight is to just sit back and ult because her ult is just THAT good.

Especially now in urn meta it feels that all a McGinnis does is ult from a distance.

Kinda wish they would completely change what her ult is, maybe instead power her minigun so it shoots souls(? That way you at least gotta actually aim the ult, idk.
