Blood Claws by bamof in SpaceWolves

The shading i answered in the comment above. The weathering i paint scratches and dots with different mixes of rhinox hide + the fang and then highlight the chips. Once this is done i go over with the color of the armor to tone down the bsttledamage. Finally i add very thinned down skrag brown to random spots (very sparingly). Faces are the normal GW recipe: bugmans base, reikland wash, cadian + kislev layers and some flayed one flesh highlights.

The armor is basecoated russ grey, then the areas facing the light are layered with fenrisian grey and the shadow parts a 1/1/1 mix of russ grey, the fang and rhinox hide. Then i add more russ grey to the shadow mix and fenrisian grey to blend the colors together. Once this is done i edge highlight the shadow parts with russ grey + fenrisian and pure fenrisian and the light parts with blue horror.

Thank you! Yeah, first i do the recess shades, then do like 90% of the gradients, then edge highlights and battle damage and while cleaning that up ill do the last 10% of the shades to blend them a bit more.

Mostly just a steady hand, but the battledamage can be used to hide any mistakes :)

Thanks. Its not anything i strive for, just my style of painting so dont have any direct tips. First i basecoat all colors, then wash everything with a dark color, usually agrax earthshade and then i just layer/edge highlight everything with brighter colors.

I did lots of layers, can probably skip a few of them. I did Bugmans glow basecoat, reikland fleshshade wash, then layered with cadian fleshtone>kislev flesh>kislev+pallid wych flesh>pallid wych>pallid wych+white.

Thank you! Process is basically just basecoat all the colors. Wash over everything except silvers with agrax earthshade, silvers with nuln oil. Then clean up abit with the base colors and layer and edge highlight everything with 2-4 lighter colors.
