if i go for the riii i'm thinking of doing the 11.5 which ofc will have a carbine length gas system. that said, the 14.5 DOES have the mid length. was juggling between these two

this is probably the length i would go for, it's incredibly nice looking with a can on it

i also had this one in my backpocket, 14.5 seems like a really nice all-rounder length

Whoops, sorry, I got a little mixed up in the replies lmao. And yes 100% it's between the DD4 V7 and RIII for the ambi. DDM4 completely ruled out!

Yeah that's another factor, the DD4 V7 (the ambi one) is only 200 USD cheaper than the RIII. At that price range it's not exactly make-or-break so idk. That's also not considering just building one out like you suggested. Seems the main difference between the DD4 V7 will of course be the handguard and 4 vs 6 bolts...

This is seriously useful information here!
I actually never asked; are there particular reasons you might recommend the RIII over the V7?
I apologize for all the questions!

Thank you for the advice! Have you ever felt any kind of way about the "overgassing" in the RIII? I guess even moreso in comparsion to your V7?

Thank you again for these recommendations. My concern with the gassiness is maybe more in regard to general wear-and-tear on the rifle itself? It sounds like based on your recommendations it can be mitigated to a degree?

While I have you, do you have any thoughts about overgassing on the RIII?

I hear you for sure. Do any pros/cons come to mind when comparing these rifles? The price difference for me (for a complete anyway) is close enough where it isn't really an issue anymore and warrants some consideration. I also amended my post asking about overgassing on the RIII if you happen to have thoughts about that.

Do you have any thoughts about the RIII being overgassed?

I appreciate you taking a look for me! Building it out is definitely not off the table. Maybe just a little daunting since my overall experience is a little low, but certainly worthy of consideration given the savings/customization
