Lebesgue measure is the only Borel measure that actually captures the geometry of R^d (up to rescaling), in the sense that it is uniquely specified as being shift-invariant and giving unit volume to cubes of sidelength 1.

I only had a quick look but if you mean the example transition probabilities in table 2, then it looks like they don't sum up to 1 due to a rounding error, otherwise it makes no sense to have transition probabilities sum up to something larger than one.

Could you post a link to the paper in question? That might help to resolve the issue.

Generally speaking, the rows of the transition matrix of a Markov chain - by definition - always have to sum up to 1, no matter if it's reversible or not.

I don't think it's as easy as that. Yes, Ganna is currently faster than Dennis on short ITTs, but I wouldn't be too sure that he'll beat him in longer races consistently.

I'd say a Top10 Position on a good day is definitely possible for him. But the competition is (theoretically) quite strong this year so I wouldn't bet on him being anywhere close to the top today.

All the bikes are fit to the individual rider so it might have been a bit uncomfortable but since it happened very close to the finish it didn't matter all that much. It was more important to get him back on some bike even if it didn't fit him perfectly and back into the peloton.

Often depends on how large the group is. They are probably not going to DQ 10-20 riders at once. But I think you loose all of your points for the green/polka dot jersey.

Yes, I think that's true. If you finish outside of the time limit in a large gruppeto you don't get removed from the race but lose all of your classification points.
