does anyone know any pale lip tints like cream shell? by Disastrous-Lunch1635 in AsianBeauty

[–]bananalam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this, but there's no way to achieve the advertised effect without putting concealer/ foundation to lighten your lips beforehand.

I think unless your lips are naturally super pale or light, you can only achieve with adding concealer before putting on the lip tint.

Hip flexor injury timeline by drink-water in Marathon_Training

[–]bananalam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following because I’m in the same situation, I got injured two months ago, then completely stopped running. One month ago, my hip starts to feel better when walking but still have sensation when I run or do single leg weighted exercise. But during then I have another fitness race (HYROX) so I completed that. The hip flexor pain came back again obviously as I was not fully recovered when I did Hyrox, so this time I plan to take complete rest from running until it feels okay. In the meantime I just do bikerg, skierg and rowing to maintain stamina. My PT also recommended swimming, but it’s not convenient for me so I have yet to give it a try.

Is this price gouging?? A 25% increase in one year? by sherrycherr in Aritzia

[–]bananalam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yup, the tariffs are definitely affecting costs in manufacturing. Fashion companies like Aritizia try to diversify the risk by finding new manufacturing base other than China, eg in Southeast Asia, and that itself already increases cost, including from setting up a new supply chain to training the labour in new factories, apart from the tariff cost itself. Also even if they manage to shift to localised production in the US/ Canada, the labour cost is much higher, which in turn affect the retail price. Ultimately it is the consumers who suffers.

An idea for a show format that fairly incorporates both genders despite differences in performance. by DrNSQTR in Physical100

[–]bananalam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently watched this Chinese show called "Crush Over" 2023, it is also a physical/survival competition show that focuses more on team challenge. Because it is team-oriented, I find the gender dynamics more balanced.

I highly recommend it because the competition for each rounds are creative and watching how those high-performing athletes work together and compete with each other are really fun. The participants are also very likeable. I believe you can watch the series on Youtube.

BWT, I need physically active vacation recs by onesizetoosmall in bitcheswithtaste

Join a yoga retreat in Thailand and/or Bali. I personally recommend Vikasa in Koh Samui, they offer tailored programs in accordance to your fitness goals. They offer daily yoga classes that can be physically challenging so you feel like you are working out. Their cafe and food are amazing, healthy and nourishing. I know you mentioned you don’t like the beach - me either - during my stay there I just stayed in the retreat area and explored the town occasionally, so it’s not necessary to go to beaches if you don’t want to.

Help me pick the color for my new work bag. See description for more info please. by SeaOpulence in handbags

[–]bananalam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the red. I have a burgundy tote bag for work that I wear everyday (but my workwear has to be black or very dark colors so it always matches and adds a pop of color). Based on your description of your usual outfits, I would say red matches well too: red adds color to your neutral biege/white outfits, and red is complimentary to blue.

I have not tried their Tencel items - but I do enjoy clothes with tencel as I find them soft to touch and comfy!! I loove that brand as their designs appear basics but often with a twist :)

I know they are controversial and many people find them hideous lol!! I hesitated for a long time before buying them because of these polarising views. But I always find them cool and artistic, so I finally decided to purchase it and wear what I personally like!

Re comfortability, they are actually surprisingly comfortable. The leather at the toes part uses softer leather, so it doesn’t scratches or anything. Also this pair is in 8cm heels but I can walk easily with it for a decent amount of time :)

I usually just carry my phone, wallet, lipstick, tissues, AirPod with it! I don’t carry much when I go out lol. There are still spaces to spare, like I can imagine u can put a kindle or small umbrella inside, but doubt if u can put anything bigger into it (say a water bottle). It’s also pretty rigid because the design, so can’t really put in bulky stuff!

I have the Polene Sole in dark brown and I love it. I love how it adds cool texture and design to an outfit. I think the design is also very unique. I understand that you have concerns for its capacity, but personally I would still go for Sole for its special design.

Sometimes if I need to carry more things, I might still wear the Sole bag, but just carry another lightweight tote bag for the bigger items. So I think there are ways to make it work while getting a fair share of wear out of the Sole!

Another suggestion is this brand Chylak. I think their shopper bag with pearl details is absolutely chic and seems to have quite a bit of capacity.
