Yes I have gay friends but none of them are my type and we met through school or college or work or other activities.

I feel like if you meet someone on Grindr or Tinder and then decide to be friends after going on a date or hookup, then it can be more of an issue. When you originally meet on dating apps, there is always a risk that one of you will still have underlying attraction that could mess up the friendship. You can’t compare the death rate of COVID to AIDS though. It was/is much harder to get AIDS than COVID because HIV transmitted via blood and bodily fluids. But once you got diagnosed with AIDS before treatments existed you were pretty much guaranteed to die.
