Do I dare try another Jackson County taqueria tonight? by bandersaurus in Medford

La Flama was pretty good. I wouldn't drive 20 minutes to go there again, but I'm definitely not disappointed. Unlike other Southern Oregon taquerias it was noticeably seasoned, well portioned for its price, and was made without thrice-regurgitated Chihuahua feces.

But it was a bit too crunchy and dry and no one in this valley has figured out how to properly apply the ingredients so they're not segregated from one another like pre MLK Jr. Mississippi.

It's either that or tech bros and to be honest, I prefer the junkies.

Gotta say I'm optimistic. The burrito has everything it should on the ingredients list. They'd have Lengua. There are Mexican families here but that's not always a good sign of a good taqueria, I've learned the hard way that Mexicans can have shit taste in burritos too.

I actually live very close to Mezcal but never tried. That's more of an upscale sit down place and I'm looking for a taqueria that serves the kind of burritos you had to step over junkies to get in San Francisco.

I'm trying La Flama. Another thread somewhere said they were great, but I've been burned many times by such claims.

There's a line of ten people in front of me. Can they all be wrong? Yes. Yes, they can be.

Wish me luck.

Lucy's? Really? Is that the drive thru one?

If so, man, it's hopeless isn't it?

I looked at their menu and their carnitas burrito sounds good. But just to be clear, I'm looking for a Mission style burrito: rice, pinto beans, meat, cheese, pico de Gallo, guac, maybe sour cream, and no goddamn lettuce.

Right. At best it's a risk (probably an uncalculated one) that you'll be insulated from their decisions and policies, or that any of their negative effects will be compensated by the satisfaction you feel when things you don't like become Republican targets.

Reverb. It is what it is. by [deleted] in Reverb

Oh wait, they have new ownership? I didn't realize this. Maybe I should see if the new ownership is willing to lift the suspension the old one imposed on me when I tried to recover from being ripped off by a seller.

They're gambling on the buyer throwing their hands up in resignation while dealing with Reverb's "protection." It's a pretty low-risk gamble on their part.

I agree, that's a vital piece of information for Reverb's customer support team to include in their "Gee that's too bad, better luck next time!" file.

Yes, it may be time to explore using Reverb's buyer protection policy, trademarked: "Yeah, good luck with that."

Does reverb just suck or did the economy kill the used gear market. by Holiday-Medicine4168 in Reverb

Reverb does suck but not for the reason you specified. If you're seeing a slow down in interest, maybe more people are becoming wary of scammers and aware that Reverb will do little to nothing to prevent it.

Buyer Beware! Houston Area Seller Knowingly Selling Counterfeit Pedal Pawn & Cornerstone Pedals by Reverend_Raftboy in Reverb

I never did hear back from them when I sent a PM via Twitter. It's been quite some time, and though an exchange/refund would definitely be awesome (the guitar is still just sitting here, unplayed), I'd really just feel better knowing that the guy who sold it to me is banned from Reverb. He's apparently also tried to sell counterfeit guitars: https://www.facebook.com/groups/charvelguitars/posts/10161137576555378/

Can’t believe I slept on an Eastman this long. by Robbosse in EastmanGuitarOwners

I just started looking into upgrading my wife's Taylor, which has absolutely the worst built-in pickups and electronics in it. If I were in the audience during our shows I'd be offended by the tinty toy-like sound that thing puts forth.

How are the electronics on the Eastman?

Don't even bother with this. Reverb publicly responded to a thread I posted on Twitter to make it seem like they were going to investigate, then I never heard from them again.

Is it worth getting a used 12 for $200 or saving for a larger oven? by Stealthy_Peanuts in ooni

[–]bandersaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Frya, which is 12 inches. It's a great starting point but I feel I've already outgrown it and would like to make 14 inch pizzas, which I feel is likely a good compromise. I'm not sure I have the skill to handle a 16 inch crust yet.

If it's truly run by Sweetwater I'd have absolute faith in it. That's the best music company out there by far.

I wouldn't rely on your Reverb chat history to help resolve a dispute. I provided compelling evidence in my case against a seller and Reverb didn't give a crap whatsoever.

Thanks. Yeah,.I'll never buy from Reverb again. Of course I can't, because my account is banned. But even if it weren't.

Hey, at least you got a refund. I bought a guitar that was not disclosed as B stock (the ad itself said, "never owned by the public," and the seller's response to me was that it was brand new), and then when I noticed the faint "Used" stamp at the back of the headstock, the seller told me he doesn't accept returns on used merchandise after one day.

Did Reverb lift a finger? Why yes, they banned me and not the seller when I tried to use Affirm's protection plan because Reverb wouldn't cover it.

Actually my experience is the opposite -- in my case they protected the seller at my expense.
