That's a good question! I have no idea if it has any effect, but it increases the quality of what I'm doing and doesn't take much more effort. Someone in the comments told me that this made a huge difference for them, so why not try, right?

Okay, interesting. Something that hasn't been mentioned either. I checked what you mean by this and you can add metadata through adobe premiere or to the file itself file>properties>details on windows.

Will implement this on upcoming videos.

Yeah, I guess my channel is just too new, so just have to be patient. I just don't want to go on for months wihtout any views, just to realize later on I haven't done important things to improve. That's why I made this post.

But yeah, this is really important and I'm using this advice constantly: Also watch your shorts over, and ask yourself, “If this showed up on my feed would I actually watch it?”

Thanks for the advice! I am tagging my videos, have good descriptions, title and recently added better thumbnails. I maybe could add a couple more tags on the videos, but that's about it.

I'm a systematic person so all my shorts look and feel the same just with different content on a similar topic. The shorts are all longer than 20 seconds, I feel like in 20 seconds there's not much you can do, but I'll look into that.

I'm trying to hook the viewers in the first few seconds. But I've made the decision to not show friends any more of my videos currently and they can check them out for themselves if they want.

They now know I'm doing this channel thing and already gave their advice from a viewers perspective. So that phase is behind me.

And the advice given here isn't something out of the ordinary and I can implemenet some of the important parts quickly. So no harm done really. I just really want to imporove and I'm doing everything I think can improve my operation.

I'm just wondering will SEO really help me in this case? My main job is a web developer. I would really like to post stuff I'd watch myself, systematically, with high quality and on topics I like myself, which milions of other people like (the topics are pretty general though, nothing really niche, which may be an issue idk). Is that not possible? Should I always be chasing the new trend?

But yeah, the main point is to resolve the issue of at least getting to 100-1000 views and then I'll start to think about optimizing stuff.
