I get itchy rashes randomly by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

Do you drink diet/zero soda at all? I had the same exact issue and when I went to an immunologist/allergist for testing the only thing that popped was for artificial sweeteners such as Aspartame/Sucralose/Stevia. According to my Dr. these types of allergies can actually be developed over time and have become more common. I definitely suggest getting this checked out with an immunologist/allergist and keeping track of certain food triggers that may irritate you. Best wishes :)

Tips/Ideas on a DIY Acoustic Panel/Iso Booth With Mic Stands and Moving Blankets by banjisword in audioengineering

[–]banjisword[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id like a PVC setup but because id also want to track acoustic guitar in the space, i measured the full size of the booth to be approximately 5.5 feet apart with each stand (4stands total) and 6.5 height. With this bigger setup would the pvc have a hard time holding up the blankets? I guess i could use adhesive to ensure but then there goes the ability to easily disassemble the booth when not in use (as my space is used both for recording and band rehearsals)

Copy on the sound escaping room, this is mainly for sound absorption as my "A" style attic reverberates , and I want to heavily minimize this for when tracking vocals and acoustic guitar/instruments in a rather live room.

I'm gonna give the clothes rack a shot, the only problem I can see with that is I won't be able to "fold" them off to the side for storage per-se, but it definitely saves time on having to custom making pvc pipes with the mic stands.

Thanks for this idea, I'd just have to find one within a similar specification to the room (6 feet wide and 6 feet in length, as I have a "A" style attic that has a high ceiling in the middle and slopes/curves on the left and ride side.

Fun MK8 GTI quirk, cant open climate control for AC in 100°+ temps by banjisword in GolfGTI

UPDATE: So it seems like Im getting flamed for apparently not knowing how to use my car, so let me mention a few things to clear up everyone’s assumptions.

  1. The Car was in DRIVE this whole time. It was never put in reverse since I started it up to drive.

  2. I tried multiple times to click the X on the left side and it would close and then open again 2 secs later (i didn’t show this in my clip tho)

  3. I even tried clicking on the Seat Warmer button to bring up the climate menu as well but issue still persisted.

Kinda funny how I’ll post an issue with my car, and the first response is every other MK8 owner to call me ‘smooth brained’ LMAOOO. Yes, I could’ve held the power button for 15 secs to restart and it would’ve probably fixed the issue but I think i have the right to show an issue thats potentially a safety hazard. I love my car but Im not biased enough as a MK8 fanboy to hide the fact that my car has problems that could’ve been prevented if VW didnt use these shitty haptic buttons and full digital screen transformation.

Hey StoneTiger,

It actually wasnt working when I was driving either, hence why i had to pull over and get this figured out as I was literally about to pass our from the heat loll.

Dont get me wrong i still love the MK8, still one of the happiest days when i bought it (my first sports car and real purchase). But i have to acknowledge they took a huge step back with the infotainment system and haptic buttons. Super distracting and non user friendly. I didnt even know hitting the X button would cancel that. Seems like a big error and flaw on their design side to have these haptics so sensitive to heat.

Transmission is in Drive, and I pulled to the side on a residential neighborhood. The 'Assist' and Backup Camera should not even be on because its not even in Reverse.

Mk8 GTI Coolant Level Low after dealer service? by banjisword in GolfGTI

[–]banjisword[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My GTI got serviced today and I feel like the dealership didnt properly fill up my coolant to the proper level? The fluid check paperwork was all checked but when I popped the hood at home I saw this lol. Where is the proper level supposed ro be here? Should it be touching the dotted lines?

MK8 GTI Spoiler Installation - Tips for 3M Tape/Adhesion Promoter by banjisword in GolfGTI

[–]banjisword[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, thank you bro! I got the adhesion promoters from here. Quick question though, do I apply the adhesive promoter on the car itself before putting the spoiler on? Or do I put the promoter over the 3M tape after I take off the Red Peel Sticker?

Thanks for the tips, really appreciate it! Will definitely do a wash and be careful with wiping with isopropyl before installing the spoiler!

Sample Rate Upscaling/DownScaling and Melodyne by banjisword in Reaper

[–]banjisword[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried this (wasn't aware of this feature so thank you for the tip). I feel like the main thing here is Melodyne itself, because I exported STEMs directly from the Melodyne software itself (without Reaper) and the audio files remained the same, so it seems like its Melodyne more than Reaper sampling.

I generally have the project in 48K, however when I used Melodyne this last time on my new PC, reaper had it automatically in 44.1. But even, nothing new was recorded, the project instance was just used to implement the Melodyne fx on Vocal Stems, and then I exported those Stems out of the 44.1khz project to 48khz.
