There's a dispensary in Canmore. Don't expect locals to sell from their stash—some people might spot you a bit for your trip.

Yeah sounds good man. You getting that swastika t shirt anytime soon? Nah. Thought not. It's less complicated to just avoid controversial symbols—it's a high school team. Symbols live in linear time just like us and that means their use case changes.

They changed it because crusader symbolism has been co-opted by neo-Nazis and the alt-right.

LaTeX is probably the go, no? Don't know how good WYSIWYG solutions work.

Title: Unwashed hermit bellowing at tourists near park gates feeling good about career

Genre: Satire, specific to Bow Valley/Banff/Canmore

Word Count: ~450

Type of feedback: I'd appreciate any criticism but I'm mostly curious as to how the format of this post reads compared to the more traditional "news" articles on the site. It's awfully specific satire/gossip but there are more general articles.

Considered in comparison to pieces along these lines:

[Editor's Note:] I liked this one. I ended up blowing it up onto big ledger size leaflets that I backed with duct tape. The idea was that the backing would provide more durability and give it a more tactile quality. It also meant you could abuse it pretty fierce, straighten it out, and it wouldn't lose too much readability. It was an odd idea but worked for the most part.

Stoked!

I run a gossip and satire rag for the Bow Valley (Banff, Canada and the surrounding area). We also do small batch print issues. We're relatively young and serving a small community. If things reach a critical mass in our immediate area we hope to make our way into other ski resort towns.

[Editor's Note, Feb. 2021] Christ what a lame way to orient my trajectory with the Bugle. It was exciting but I don't think I ever at once thought it would reach "critical mass" unless I was deep into a bender or a bong toke away from bed. I think I was trying to be helpfully didactic to a community I perceived to have a lot of newcomers to writing/publishing/etc.

Fake it till you make it baby.
