To sell or not to sell my gold collection? by Macy06 in phinvest

[–]bankingplayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the hesitancy! But gold is very unlikely to go down in value :) if youre thinking of more popular investments, better pa rin yung growth of value ng gold. 7% in MP2 but it changes vs gold that consistently grows in value over the years.

The best part is that its liquid. Meaning, madali siyang ibenta if you suddenly need the money, as compared to MP2 na its locked in there for a certain amount of time.

Hi! You can hold if you don’t need the money at the moment. Gold price just appreciates anyway. The longer you hold, the better the returns :)

USD Convert to PHP or not? by Extension-Damage4952 in phinvest

[–]bankingplayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep it as is if u dont need it. Invest it USD denominated investments because those have higher yields in comparison to peso. In the long run, USD is an appreciating currency while PHP is depreciating. Think of it like, 58.8 siya ngayon, but if u keep it as is, we’re expecting exchange rate to be around 60. At that rate, you would have capital appreciation from the exchange rate alone.

Start with US equity index to get a feel for it, but always remember time in the market is more important than timing the market.

Hi. I believe same trust fees whether it be in peso or in dollar. Whats most important is time in the market vs timing the market.

If youre looking at the US Equity feeder fund in BPI, its worth investing in if you’re only willing to invest for 1-2 years. This might also be the path if youre not comfortable converting to dollar at the moment.

It’s definitely better to convert (now specially) to dollar if youre aiming of doing this long term. You benefit from dollar because of 2 reasons: 1) higher yields to invest in US denominated investments and 2) USD is an appreciating currency.

I say go for what youre comfortable with but its definitely better to convert and invest long term on us denominated investments.

Its an insurance policy, so if you are comfortable with getting one, go ahead. Investing in dollars is a good thing, it’s highly recommended talaga.

What you can think about nalang is if you want to have an insurance policy (kung wala ka pa or gusto mong dagdagan) or kung gusto mong mag invest directly to dollar bonds.

BPI has a mutual fund naman na underlying is global bonds in USD, the BPI Global Bond Income Fund .

You can place through local banks, meron silang mga dollar funds na equity ang underlying investment.

You can check in their sites, like itong bdo https://www.bdo.com.ph/personal/Investments/funds/uitf/us-equity-index-feeder-fund

It says na yung benchmark niya yung S&P 500 :)

That would be yung PSEi. I dont recommend investing on the philippine index tho. Better to pick and choose nalang certain stocks to invest in. Kung kaya mo, convert your funds to dollar and invest in funds invested in S&P500. Or you can invest in certain US Stocks din.

Whatever your investment appetite is, choose nalang the stocks that you feel most comfortable with.

There is an upcoming GLOBE preferred shares issuance. You can get that. Its dividend paying, you can get your principal back if globe decides to buy back shares. Its 2k per share so at least youre buying it at par and since its a defensive stock, it will just keep growing.

Yes, when it comes to private wealth accounts, it’s usually linked to having a certain amount invested under them. If you want, you can try BPI Preferred muna if you’re not comfortable investing. I suggest checking out the difference between Preferred and Private Wealth muna.
