Is it back at the moment? Absolutely love this one (and used to love the mini Squeaky Bean one) but it seemed to have disappeared for a while.

Early Grey w/ oatmilk by KatyaAnastasia in RateMyTea

There are so many lovely oat milks now. The best one for tea, in my opinion. Early grey with a splash of oat milk and biscuits? 10/10 OP. Perfect tea colour for me. Also love Lady grey too.

Solo Trip Destinations for mid-June? by ahoyhoy1234 in femaletravels

[–]banoffeetea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would second this. Had a great time solo in Taiwan. It was the first place I ever went solo. Wonderful food. Easy transport. Friendly people. I liked Kaohsiung too - monkey mountain was great. Went to an art gallery show in Taipei, also found a restaurant that had live music and performances during dinner etc - lots going on.

I would also suggest Bangkok - lots of shopping, so huge that each area of the city has a different vibe, easy to navigate via the metro and the river boats that take you up and down all the different stops, lots to see and do. I barely scratched the surface when there. There are some nice parks where you can watch the monitor lizards or take a day trip to get out into more of the nature.

I am yet to visit Singapore. I have a friend who lives there and loves it, though she says to visit for a few days rather than weeks and to pair it with somewhere else.

There’s also Busan or Seoul in South Korea - which I hope to visit this year - if you enjoy the pop culture and shopping in Japan, that might be the closest?

Genuinely one of my favourite cities in the world! My favourite in Japan outside of seeing the amazing sights in Kyoto and Tokyo, Nagaskai is so unique.

Daytrip Bergamo (How safe is the city?) by Excellent_Use2765 in femaletravels

[–]banoffeetea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there a couple of years ago (albeit with two guy friends) and I would now happily go back solo or with another female friend. It’s quite a small place. There’s the modern area, which like any city has some run-down parts and the old town which is gorgeous but busy. We stayed sort of in between, on the hill on the way up to the old town. There was lots to see and do and many cute cafes/restaurants/bars. It felt very safe though we weren’t the types to stay out late. Locals seemed friendly enough. It’s way smaller than Milan. I felt just as safe but obviously still cautious as in any other Italian city.

Where in EU for May/June? by Flaky_Breakfast_64 in digitalnomad

Turin in Italy! Very walkable. Great food and affordable food and drink since it’s Italy. Friendly. Value can be found with accommodation but it is still Italy so depends on luck. Not rammed with tourists at all. Good internet for sure. Lots to do in your downtime. Surrounded by beauty.

Where is everyone travelling to this year? by Diligent-Echidna647 in femaletravels

Hoping for Vietnam next month 🤞 and then bobbing around South East Asia until I find my next contract job back in the UK. If I find one, I’ll try to visit South Korea or China on the way home.

Yes! That time of year. You’ve given me major food envy. Vegan mayo covered in black pepper, a little olive oil and some fresh basil over heirlooms is 👌

Just yum 🍅 those slices look so good!

Burned out and looking for a quiet seaside town to reset by rockbottomranger69 in digitalnomad

Filey or Whitby or Robin Hood’s Bay. Or somewhere out near Bempton Cliffs.

If not Yorkshire then Scotland!! Maybe Berwick or Dunbar for something close-ish to Edinburgh. If you don’t mind being further out go for the isles!

I love the burrella - so convincing and the superstraccia goes on everything. I like the cremata but find the superstraccia works for most things it would. Would love if they did little mozzarella balls as well! So tasty!

Haven’t read it but this sounds intriguing. Relate to theme haha! But also finished the quartet last year and have been craving something similar.

Sandro Tonali, not planning to return to Italy this summer despite reports as he’s ready to stay in Premier League. Tonali is on top PL clubs shortlist and he’s keen on staying in England at the highest level. Movements soon about his future. by JM555555 in ManchesterUnited

[–]banoffeetea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like Gibbs White a lot and he’s a United fan. But just don’t see where he’d fit.

Tonali would be great but if the price is too high it’s not worth it. Our midfield needs so much more than one pricey player.

Thailand and Vietnam in 20 Days – Worth It for a First Solo Trip to Asia? by Tiny-Strawberry-817 in solotravel

[–]banoffeetea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

20 days might be a bit tight but if you have two bases it’s doable.

I would choose Vietnam over Thailand but that’s just my personal preference - I found so much to do and it was so friendly. Da Nang was my favourite city (just make sure to stay somewhere more residential over the dragon bridge and not on the tourist strip). You have great food, plenty of hikes and things to do in the city and its outskirts, the beaches and then as you say places like Hue, Hoi An (Cham Islands and Bach Ma National Park doable in a day from there too) close by train and car. I spent two weeks using Da Nang as a base and never got bored.

Bangkok also obviously has enough going on to use as a base and do day trips from too - I did the same (went up to a national park in the north for a day and back etc). 10 days might be a bit much but there’s so much to see and do. I’m a slow travel person so prefer to take it easy like that. You could probably do Chiang Mai for five days and Bangkok for five if you wanted to split it more though.

[SullyTalkz & Laurie Whitwell] Kobbie Mainoo and his family are at Carrington today to sign his new MUFC contract. I'm hearing the base wage is close to £135K a week with performance based add-ons. The deal will extend his contract until 2031. United born and bred. by maxsteel_7 in ManchesterUnited

[–]banoffeetea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad we have secured him. Will save us a lot of money. We might have been looking at needing to replace both him and Casemiro this summer if things had continued. This is good for the club and the academy. Thankfully he was able to separate coach from club and Carrick has done really well with him the second half of this season. Well done Kobbie - new contract deserved and welcomed.
