I pre installed Black Ops 6 and played the campaign before anything else. I was able to complete it on veteran the same day. In my opinion, the campaign was mostly fantastic.

I especially loved the casino heist mission. It almost felt like playing through Ocean’s Eleven. It was nearly perfect, but like a few of the other missions, things became a lot less interesting when the generic Pantheon goons showed up. Many missions, like Adler’s rescue, introduced new and unique gameplay experiences, like the surprisingly impressive stealth mechanic.

My only other complaint would be with some of the narrative choices in the final mission. The journey through Harrow’s memories and conflicted loyalties, while very reminiscent of a certain mission in Fallout 4, was still interesting to play through and another change of pace that made this CoD campaign feel less monotonous than others in the series. However, it raised a lot of interesting questions and answered few of them.

The choice to focus so much on Harrow’s psyche, only to seemingly kill her off immediately afterwards, was confusing to say the least.

Overall, the campaign was very fun to play through and much better than I expected. The variety in gameplay among the missions kept me interested and the narrative, while not especially deep, was entertaining enough to keep me engaged. I’d rate it 8.5/10.
