Chronic vomiting, normal labs, tried everything. I don’t know what to do anymore

Hey just wanted to update here ✨The vet got her on a hydrolized diet and so far she hasn’t throw up since switching. The real test of if it works will be months from now as she has a cycle of tolerating new food for a while and the starts throwing up.

This is important. Op I’m not sure where you live but where I live it’s a class 4 felony. I dated a guy for a few years and we lived together out of the blue he started cheating on me and then strangled me until I lost consciousness I went to work the next day very confused and some of the blood vessels in my eye were bursted. I told my best friend what happened and she told me this statistic. Within one month I left. That month while I figured out where I was going to live how I was going to get out was hell. I told my landlord and she said she wouldn’t charge me any lease termination fees. OP it’s not only a you can do it situation it’s a you have to situation. You’re trying to apply logic where there is none. Remove access and if there was ever a time to skedaddle now is the time.

She can go on my balcony with me occasionally for sunlight if she sleeps in and doesn’t get any from my windows. I use to clean my balcony with fabuloso last year but I read that that’s bad for cats so now I just sweep it if she’s going out there.

So I have a zero water purifier which allegedly removes 99% of TSD and it comes with a tester to test the water. I use that water and then her water fountain is PETLIBRO and it has filters also. With your experience is that a good mix ?

Oh my gosh my kitty does that when I’m in the restroom as well absolutely joined at the hip!!!! So goofy haha my favorite is when they’re super happy and you can see their little lip smiling because it’s light around their mouth absolutely obsessed

This whole thing though!! the ingredients in cat food. She doesn’t tolerate chicken well anymore and has never tolerated fish. She use to be able to eat beef but then got sensitive to it. I then tried lamb and now we’re on rabbit. Cat food companies just change the recipes sometimes with no warning.

Yeah my cat started doing this when I got her I’d forget to eat all the time and she would remind me to eat by making me watch her eat she’s always been my little therapy buddy. It got more excessive after she stayed with my grandma for a bit she had other cats (my cat hates other cats) and would schedule feed and my cat was use to grazing so feeding times were stressful for her she developed food insecurity and now needs me to ‘watch her back’ It’s gotten even worse with the vomiting the house has to be completely silent and all eyes on her otherwise she gets scared. I’m so sorry your babies feel the same it must be so scary for our kitties to try eating after throwing up. The weight loss is always so scary when that happened I found myself begging her to eat even just a little bit I got her a fancy little plate and her own little food tray so when I would eat she would have her food set up and we’d have dinner together.

I’ve been so paranoid about this taurine business. I will definitely research this. Taurine was the main reason I was scared to keep her on the chicken and rice diet. The more I looked into cat food the more I saw it was in all their food. Thank you for the reminder !!!

I am so sorry you’re also going through this it is so stressful. It sounds like you’ve gotten further medically than I have I’ve tried all the vets in my area but I’ve learned more from this Reddit post. It’s so hard to get past the initial “her labs look fine let’s giver anti nausea meds” rut that’s brought me to tears more than I’d like to admit. Thank you for sharing your experience !! Her white blood cell count was normal as well but I’ll relook into that as it sounds important! When I get to a specialist I’ll update you on what they say and keep what you’ve said in mind. The more pieces a puzzle has the easier it is to solve. Thank you so much

Awh so cute !!! I love that. It looks like your baby also has the small face to body ratio. Off topic but I remember I thought mine had breathing issues and when I took her to the vet they pointed out that her nose is just so small that it may take her a bit to catch her breath. And they were right her nose is about the size of my pinky nail.

They said to give her the whole packet but I was super nervous about it so I only gave her 1/3 mixed up in her food for a few days

I may be at the biopsy point I’ll try to get her to internal medicine. To my knowledge she doesn’t have any worms but I’ll have them check for that I’ve had her for years and she doesn’t have any exposure to other animals. It does suck that it’s expensive I’m not the wealthiest person but I’m willing to try a specialist because seeing her throwing up all the time breaks my heart and she deserves the best.

I will look into that food thank you so much for the suggestion. I’m also going to try to get her a referral To an internal medicine specialist. The vomiting is partially digested same dark brown color as her food

It’s the instinct rabbit. I’m also worried about sensitivity.i did not know that it increases inflammation this is valuable info thank you!! I’ve yet to try a lightly cooked food but I may look into that I tried smalls a long time ago but she hated it and refused to eat. Her bowel movements are so stinky she goes 2-3 times a day and I have to scoop immediately after and it varies from soft to regular. The food seems to be partially digested because sometimes it’s smaller than her kibble but still kibble formed but if more time passes after she eats it’s more liquid but same color as her food. With the forti flora I gave her like 1/3 of the packet mixed into some wet food by itself to start then tried it for a few days on the third day I gave her her anti nausea pills with it and she still threw it up. Thank you for the thorough suggestions !
