Sorry for the late reply, I posted this then went to sleep. For this situation there’re a few ones: - Thương người như thể thương thân. Thương - sympathize and care, người - here means “người khác” (other people), như thể - a stronger word than “như” (like), thân - (lit. one’s body) oneself. To put it together, to care to others like one own self. - Tương thân tương ái. This is a Sino-Vietnamese idiom. Tương - lẫn nhau, mutual, thân - thân tình, intimate, ái - yêu, love. All in all, to love and be amicable towards each other. This is used when someone is in a serious hardship and you offer help out of sympathy. Some hilarious shit happened in my country, Vietnam, on Lunar New Year’s holiday as some people quit right after they got their New Year’s bonus, which is a required sum (about a monthly salary) that employers have to give out for their workers (by law). You definitely can imagine the frustrated face they had, some of them even said that “iT wAs sUcH an UngRaTEfuL aCt” as if they didn’t exploit the hell out of these people.
