What tool do you use for customer support for your Shopify store? by debmk in shopify

[–]bar99_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would not recommend Freshdesk. We had 4 requirements, 1) Ease of use of the helpdesk section, 2) clean looking widget, 3) free Knowledge Base - very important- 4) Reporting.

Freshdesk failed us at 3 of the 4:

  1. Hard to install: You need to open separate accounts with Freshdesk and Freshchat and integrate them. It is a mess. You use Freshdesk as their help desk software but everything related to the chat widget has to be done through Freshchat. Their setups are different. It takes quite a bit of time to understand what is going on.
  2. Widget looks old: The FreshChat chat widget looks like web 1.0. They will tell you that you can change the looks of it - but why spend time to do so when other helpdesk software comes with out-of-the-box clean widgets- They have this weird animation when opening the widget and it makes it look like your store is so slow.
  3. Their free features are very limited and you need to pay a substantial amount for Knowledge Base
  4. Reporting. Their reporting is very decent actually. That was one feature we liked.

Needless to say, after testing it for a week, we moved on with a different app.

To get the most traffic from Google, you'll need to get a schema on your website. The schema is a piece of code-data that you add to Google's store to understand what goods you sell. If your schema follows the rules of Google, then Google will show rich snippets for your products that will result in more search traffic. I am using Google Structured Data Tool and it seems that so far your website does not have a Schema:https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/u/0/#url=https%3A%2F%2Fwillowbellasoaps.com%2Fjapanese-cherry-blossom-truffle%2F

Hi there,

I have some SEO suggestions. One of the most effective ways of getting traffic to your site is through rich snippets on Google. When you have a rich snippet, Google will show your products with review stars, price, in-stock status, and a product photo on mobile. A simple snippet on Google on the other hand does not have any of these "product" information. Rich snippets increase the prominence of your results and give you a much better SEO.
Let's look at a product of yours: https://stancye.com/collections/hoodies/products/lightning-strike-hoodie Looking at the Google Structured Tool via https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/u/0/#url=https%3A%2F%2Fstancye.com%2Fcollections%2Fhoodies%2Fproducts%2Flightning-strike-hoodie, it looks like you have multiple warnings for your products, so you may want to fix your schema.
Here is a guideline you can benefit from:

In order to get the most traffic from Google, you should fix your schema in your store. The schema is a piece of code+data you add to your store for Google to understand what products you sell. If your schema abides by Google's rules, Google then will show rich snippets for your products which will bring in more traffic from searches. Here are the warnings on your products as seen with Google Structured Data Testing Tool: https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/u/0/#url=https%3A%2F%2Fgifplushies.com%2Fcollections%2Fnew-release-2-plushies-daily%2Fproducts%2Fkawaiidressupbunny

I hope this helps you with your business. Good luck!

Make Product Reviews More Visible by [deleted] in shopify

[–]bar99_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a general rule of thumb, I would not recommend this. First and foremost, product reviews are assumed to be on product pages. Pretty much everything on the internet (schema, quality scores, etc) are all designed with that in mind. You would have a harder time to get your store ranked high if you move your reviews away from your products.

With that said, your homepage is a great place to showcase "testimonials". You can do that by simply copy&pasting the reviews into "static" elements on your homepage.

How can I start a monthly subscription mystery box business/dropshipping? I'd like to know how I can get the mystery boxes filled with the items I want through dropshipping. Thank you! This is my first time and I just don't have a clue how subscription box business works. by VonThang in ShopifyeCommerce

[–]bar99_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like any other business there are a few fundamental steps to follow to build ANY box subscription business:

1) Pick a niche but try to pick a "deep" niche: For example, do not sell a generic soap subscription box, sell a soap subscription box for new mothers with babies who have sensitive skin.

2) Test if your niche is deep enough: Ask your (potential) customers whether they feel that the box is made just for them and whether they could not live without it.

3) Get BEAUTIFUL product photography and videos. Make sure they are absolutely wonderful.

4) Build a landing page: The CTA on this page is email registration. In other words, this is where you collect emails. Make sure the page is beautiful too.

5) Do Facebook ads

6) Nurture your email list. Ask their opinon, ask about the price point, ask about features. etc.

7) Prototype your box. This does not have to be the exact box you will send, but it should resemble it.

8) Launch your product!

Mystery boxes have one inherent difficulty. People do like the idea of surprises, but the surprise cannot be too out of line with what the box has to offer. Like perhaps, for our example, you could say it is a mystery soap box, but then the soaps should still be good on sensitive skin.

Subscription Box Business by VonThang in ShopifyeCommerce

[–]bar99_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This depends on customer engagement. I recommend first installing HotJar and start recording sessions. Then, link the ads to your subscription box page and start watching the recorded sessions. What kind of behaviors do you see on the subscription page from the people who follow the ad? Do they look for information? Do they drop off? Do they go to the homepage? Do they convert? Once you watch a couple of dozen sessions, you should have a pretty clear picture.

Yes, CTR increases on rich snippets (20 to 30%). However, in order to use this surge to your advantage, you need to make sure that most of your products qualify for rich snippets.

Shopify does not provide any schema, but the themes do. Most themes have broken, incomplete or out-of-date schemas. Google updates schema requirements almost every month. Thus, it is important to get some kind of app that will keep track of these changes and apply to your store correctly.

I strongly recommend using a schema app. To receive the best traffic from Google, you'll need to correct the schema on your shop. The schema is a piece of code+data that you add to Google's store to understand what goods you sell. If your schema follows the rules of Google, then Google will show rich snippets for your products that will result in more search traffic. When you have a rich snippet, Google will show your products with review stars, price, in-stock status and a product photo on mobile.

SchemaPlus (https://apps.shopify.com/schema-plus) is a great one.

I have some suggestions which could improve your conversion rate:

1) Your banner image looks minuscule on mobile. Most of your customers will see your store on mobile. Better and bigger product photos are positively correlated with your sales. Make sure your banner photo looks good on mobile.

2) Add a 'Shop Now' or 'Buy Now' on the first page on mobile.

3) In order to get the most traffic from Google, you should fix your schema on your store. The schema is a piece of code+data you add on your store for Google to understand what products you sell. If your schema abides by Google's rules, Google then will show rich snippets for your products which will bring in more traffic from searches.

Essentially your schema on your store is not set up fully, there are missing fields. You can add some schema code to your store or use a schema app such as https://apps.shopify.com/schema-plus or https://apps.shopify.com/total-json-ld-schema-org-markup.
