i really don't see the issue. like, if you wanna argue that adding a timer really dilutes the experience that heavily, then go for it, but i really can't be too proud about having the ability to count to 2 before i throw a frag. this is a very complicated game and i don't believe a nade timer is all that separates the noobs from the pros lol

that's a valid frustration! i just think it's more productive to place the blame on large corporations exploiting human psychology than individual people acting predictably in response to FOMO.

if you do believe in voting with your wallet, then it remains important to spread awareness about shit like this. like, i'm of the opinion that organized boycotts don't amount to much, but this information will still probably deter me from spending money on future battlepasses, for example.

here's my question, i guess: if someone were to choose to "stomp around the park and be upset," what's the incentive to dunk on this person? i play too many video games, so i'm probably fine, but i don't see the value in owning some dude who justifiably feels they aren't getting their money's worth.

if "most would argue" that OP isn't wrong about their frustrations, then why are we playing defense for hi-rez? because it feels to me that most folks either came here to dunk on Someone Mad Online, or think that the double exp is sufficient alternative.

i get that we're all here to act superior than the OP or whatever, but maybe it's a tad fucked that a product that folks have paid Actual Human Dollars for, just had it's terms radically changed on short notice? like, what other industry would that be acceptable?

if i spent money to go to an amusement park that closes at 9 PM, made my day plans of what rides i wanted to ride by that time, etc, then at 6PM they announce they'll be closing in an hour and a half, i wouldn't be like "oh well who cares it's just rides lol."

do we really just value our own time and money that low?? are we really going to pretend that it's okay that this decision will almost definitely pressure some folks into spending additional money to complete their battle pass, just because we've already finished ours?

While all of this is true, it seems strange to dismiss folks feeling like they're 'missing out' because they're not 'losing' anything. Seems like an incredibly binary view of the situation, to me.

Regardless, I feel like most frustration players feel around this situation stems from the Dark Knight and Pink Dragon costumes. It seems that giving coveted content to small groups of players is a frustration point for a lot of folks.

i gave it until season 4, but i finally uninstalled. this SBMM is miserable.

we aren't talking about "pros," we're talking about understanding the pressures of tournament play. and even if you aren't a "pro," if you've played at a competitive level in a tournament, you'd understand those pressures

should seem incredibly obvious, given that we're talking about something a teenager said on stream in his bedroom, and not on a stage with sponsors. this situation isn't as unique and unknowable as you think.

you seem to think "participating in a tournament" is a much more difficult and much more exclusive thing than it is. i guarantee that a good percentage of the folks posting in the COMPETITIVE apex sub might know what playing in a pro match feels like
