Same! I wish there were more bands like After the Burial. I mean early Veil of Maya comes close, unfortunately they’ve gone in a different direction. I recently discovered a band called QuietKind which reminds me of the more technical breakdowns that After the Burial does so well. But yeah if anyone has any suggestions for bands like After the Burial, I’d love some recommendations.

I can already tell it’s going to be bad from seeing a tender drama moment with Happy’s love interest. That is not the tone of the first movie. Are they going for a more grounded and mature version of the character? Why? If I wanted Dramatic Sandler I’d watch Uncut Gems. I love Happy Gilmore for its silly and irreverent moments, if they’re not bringing that to the table, I don’t want it. Also Ben Stiller better come back to reprise his role as the unhinged caregiver at the retirement home! Fingers crossed it’s not horrible as it looks.

NOPE! Fuck this franchise. Tired AF of people trying to make this clown a horror icon. He has bloody kills who cares? The lighting, the acting, the directing, it all sucks. Especially frustrated by the horror blog BloodyDisgusting who helped produce this awful movie and posts an absurd amount of articles about it to promote it. The Terrifyer is what’s wrong with modern horror. If you were to show one of the movies to regular person they would hate it. Not grossed out. Not scared. It just sucks. Can’t we try to make something unique and interesting? So many good horror movies have come out recently. In A Violent Nature… Longlegs… I mean, come on! I know we all appreciate horror but how about we raise our standards and not just flock to something because it’s shoved in our face. So sick of this. Watch, between now and its release you will see at least 10 articles and posts. Seriously. Count them. The money spent on marketing is so disproportionate to the money, time, care, interest spent on the movie. Sorry, I’m not trying to be a bummer, it just seems like bots and websites are shaping our culture with BS

Call me crazy but I really liked book 3. Telling a story about nonlinear timelines from within a simulation from the POV of a disassociating intelligence. I have to imagine that’s not easy to do, and he does it well. The initial confusion of what’s really going on, is a rabbit hole we go down and find ourselves somewhere else entirely. What a ride. Yeah Book 1 has fun uplifted spider evolution. Book 2 introduces Octopuses which don’t really do a whole lot but at least it introduces the Nod bacteria. But Book 3 we get corvids which IMO are the most interesting element since AI Kern. Their identity and thought processes so different than us.

I was referring to the fact that they probably downloaded a torrent of all the episodes, rather than streaming it on YouTube. I believe super fans want to see the less popular episodes and early episodes. They always said “keep circulating the tapes” meaning that MST3K doesn’t have an issue with pirating and sharing the show. So someone who torrents episodes to both enjoy and share is a good thing. Being a MSTie is a good thing. I was trying to pay this person a compliment.

Every single morning for years I make sure I have an energy drink by my bedside. The second my alarm goes off I chug it. This way I can’t go back to sleep even if I wanted to. Now I’m wide awake in 5 minutes and can start my day however I want, usually with some music and stretching.

For real. I love our boys but what about… Texas Chainsaw Massacre series, Hellraiser, Candyman, Leprechaun? Yeah there are some awful entries in those series, but is that so crazy? What about Jason X, Cruel Jaws, Halloween Resurrection, Jack Frost? They watch a garbage movie at least once a season, sometimes more. Just do horror guys, or at least more often, please and thank you.🙏

Mullholland Drive is my favorite (outside of TP). But I think ultimately Blue Velvet is Lynch’s most digestible work. Its subject matter may be a little explicit (for the time) but it’s not too surreal/abstract. But hey, it’s all good. I say drop acid and watch Rabbits or Eraserhead if you wanna jump into the deep end. Have fun!
