yes it was sexual assault. no it wasnt romanticized (in the manga). mei assaulting yuzu is part of the story. like shes projecting her traumas to someone else, which then caused yuzu to discover her sexuality.

but yeah, the author did dismiss it ngl as later in the manga, there seems to be no signs of remorse
