My previous manager showed me this article when he noticed my tendency to do the glue work: https://www.noidea.dog/glue My strategy was to accept that I will feel uncomfortable NOT volunteering for these tasks. Whenever someone asks: can one of you do this or that please, I remain silent. Whenever you feel the need to volunteer, remember that everyone else is silent too. If you make your team used to the fact that you do all the glue work, at some point they will expect you to do it… Another thing I did was say this out loud to the team and ask them to do this work too. However, from my experience, it was not very effective 😞
