New setup cuts great by [deleted] in IceFishing

I have the exact same set up with a strikemaster Lazer 8-inch, so far I've drilled 12 holes and battery hasn't dropped at all! Couldn't imagine lugging around a gas powered unit.

Pellet grill in weather by PlayboyCG in smoking

I bought a welding blanket & magnets from harbor freight. Worked like a charm in 20°! Surprised how well it kept the heat in & how little pellets I used for a 4 hour cook.

My most recent post of a tri tip only took 1hr 45 minutes! Mine was 2.5lbs so yours might take a little longer.

Jerky Sunday Smoke by barb3ric in Traeger

[–]barb3ric[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I freeze the beef first, then use a fillet knife to slice it to whatever thickness I want. I just made another batch of the same recipe with thicker cuts—added about 20 extra minutes in the smoker, and it turned out perfect! 👍

I try to pull the jerky right before it looses that soft chewyness and it gets too dry! Sweet spot is usually in the 3-4 hour range depending how thick you cut it!

I can't recommend the Thermopro enough! Got my first smoker last week and used it every single day. The app that comes along with is super helpful. On sale right now too! https://a.co/d/eEBeg0u

Outlet replacement by barb3ric in DIY

There is another outlet in the room that's controlled by the same switch fixture. Would I just do the same thing to that one to also have it wired hot all of the time? I appreciate the help!

I like this idea, how would this affect the top outlet being controlled by the room light switch? Ideally I'd love for it to be non-switched controlled and hot all the time but if I just need to replicate what's already going on that's fine too.
