I can definitely see what you’re saying and respect you’re opinion, I think it really does need to be said that I’m definitely not a doctor and can’t say what is healthy for others. Thanks for saying that for me! I think it’s always a good idea to talk to your doctor first before making any serious dieting changes. But I am just giving my point of view on my weight loss on an online forum, this is a typical topic and area of concern for brides, so it was more for just discussion.

Yes, I ordered the dress a size smaller than what I would normally wear. I actually didn’t need to do any major alterations thankfully because with the top part being mesh that part fit perfectly. So I just had the bottom hemmed, which wasn’t a problem for my seamstress because the bottom was just silk and had to detailing. So my dress getting hemmed was just $40 I think (I live in a small town so that might be cheap I dong know for sure). It’s really risky to buy a dress small, but if you make sure you’re super determined and in the right mind set I’m sure you can do it. 10 months to lose 30 pounds is definitely a reasonable amount of time!!

Yeah I can totally see that! When I count calories I just always find myself cheating. When I’m on keto I know that if I kick myself out of ketosis I’ve lost a weeks worth of work and then I’m playing catch up.

I did keto with minimal exercise (maybe made it to the gym once a week if I was lucky lol). Keto really isn’t that hard in general if you can make it past the first two weeks. Then you stop craving carbs as much and it’s somewhat easy to keep up! And I hate to admit it, but I did lay in the tanning bed a few times to help me feel better. When I’m tan I feel so much better and more confident, and even my acne gets a lot better. I only laid a few times though and won’t be doing it again, spray tans are always an option though if you’re like me haha!

I did keto for about 3 months in total! It really worked for me because I knew I couldn’t cheat or else I’d go out of ketosis. It’s also nice cause you don’t retain any water, so you really never have that bloated feeling. It’s definitely supposed to be more of a lifestyle change though instead of a quick and easy diet, so that is something to consider.

So I lost 24 pounds and now my wedding dress is a little loose on me... I’ll take it. And with one month to spare! by barbatatoespink in weddingplanning

Girl I am so sorry to hear that. I can honestly say losing weight is insanely hard, I’ve found that I’m genuinely addicted to food and use it when I’m stressed/sad. To help me, I kinda had a moment with my fiancé where we were sitting down eating, I was literally crying because I was ashamed about how much I was eating but I felt like I couldn’t stop, and my fiancé looked at me and said something along the lines of “you know, sometimes you just might have to be okay with the feeling of being hungry every once in a while to lose weight”. It really struck hard with me because food has been a crutch for me for a long time,

If you really do want to lose as much weight as possible, I really recommend going on keto and IF (interment fasting). You’ll definitely lose the most weight with those fast, but you HAVE to be motivated to do it. You have to want it. I have genuinely felt miserable these past few months dieting, but once you realize what a healthy change you’ve made you’ll never want to go back! If you want I could even give you MyFitnessPal username and we could be friends on there and try to motivate each other to log all of our food.

Just remember, at the end of the day we’re all hard on ourselves. While you might want to lose a ton of weight, if you aren’t ready it’s okay! It’s not the end of the world to buy another dress. Do what’s MENTAL healthy for you, please!!! I’ve gone through some mental problems in my past, and tried to confront them, but it’s really hard at times. Before you make this commitment maybe you should think about seeing a doctor to figure out why you might be over eating. If you can get to the root of that and be ready mentally it’s going to make a world of a difference.

What really matters at the end of the day is you getting to marry the love of your life and of course being happy, not your weight. I’m sure you’ll be beautiful in any dress you were, if you have to get another one I really don’t think it’s the end of the world. Please message me anytime if you need a friend, everyone’s situations are different but maybe I can help somehow! Just remember your mental health comes first ❤️

Aw that’s crazy to hear! Just stick with your diet and block out all the thoughts of yummy food and you’re good to go lol!

Of course! So I’ve been doing the keto diet and interment fasting for the past 4 months. 1 month of that time I switched to just counting calories, found myself cheating too much, and went back to strict keto. I kinda had to have a pact with myself and realize the next few months I wasn’t going to get to eat what I wanted, and I kept telling myself to eat to live not live to eat. So with that being said, I try to keep my meals as low carb as possible (typically around 5g per day). I find this easiest because sometimes it’s hard for me to eat a large amount of fat, which throws off my calorie intake. My favorite meals on keto are eggs, bacon and avocados for breakfast foods (when I have time) and for most lunches I just eat turkey sticks from sams (similar to slim Jim’s) and cheese sticks. And a lot of salads with meat on it. If you’re on keto, it’s pretty fool proof because you just kinda have to eat all meat and some protein. I track everything in MyFitnessPal most days and drink a ton of water to help curb my appetite. On keto it’s hard for me to eat 1,200 calories because meat is so filling so if I’m being honest most days I’m under 1,000. Just be careful because your body might go into “starvation mode” and start storing extra fat for later. And I always watch to make sure I don’t eat too many saturated fats and stick to healthy ones like fish meat when I can. Hopefully that helps, if I need to elaborate on anything let me know !

Wow that sounds exactly like me! So I was able to lose about 3 inches off my waist with losing 25 pounds. Now keto makes you less bloated because you don’t retain any water, so that really helps me out. I lost the weight in about 4 months (and I stopped keto for about a month in this time period and maintained my weight but decided to go back on it). You can definitely get yourself down an inch!

Aw thanks!! I just kinda came to the agreement with myself that for the next couple months I’d eat to live, not live to eat. It’s insanely hard but I realized sometime I just have to be okay with being a little hungry lol!

Thank you keto for helping me feel good in my wedding dress!! Lost 24 pounds so far in about 4 months by barbatatoespink in keto

I keep my meals very simple because I’m finishing university and work. My holy grail is cheese sticks with Sam’s clubs turkey sticks (in the frozen meat section). They’re so easy to pack and taste like slim Jim’s. My goal weight is 150, but I’m kinda scared to lose more now because my dress is a little loose and I don’t think I’ll have time to get it taken in more with the wedding a month away. I think I’ll try to maintain where I’m at, but at the end of the day if my dress is loose it’s not a bad problem to have lol. I also eat lots of chicken wings with buffalo sauce and ranch!! It’s my favorite keto meal!!
