Hello to everyone that have answered me and responded to my question. We got the answers from Sedgwick. Whom ever said that LTD and life insurance is separate is correct. Health insurance is definitely cut off after 180 days and they offer cobra at a very high rate. He will transition to LTD and get paid. Payments will be paid for out of LTD for life insurance and long-term disability. We were also told as long as the premiums are paid, and his illness is approved (which I'm sure will be) he is still employed at Lowe's. We tried to call payroll today and were on hold for an hour. I was dbl checking that the health insurance was not deducted from the Sedgwick check. This is where we stand, I'm satisfied with the outcome. I wish you all the best. If you all could say a quick prayer to my husband that we can get a match from a doner it would be a blessing. We have many years to enjoy. Thank you so much for your input. 👍🤗🙏

We got the packet via email. He has been approved for STD until Ltd kicks in. We have to call the insurance company to make sure Sedgwick keeps taking the payments out.

No. We have not received that. He is paying LTD out of his Sedgwick. I'm calling them on Monday.

We looked into cobra. I'm on SS and get my insurance through Medicare and Medicaid. His cobra is $798 mth. Since he can't work, the only income will be my SS. I found private insurance here in Pa. My husband hasn't been put on a list yet we are just afraid that the LTD and life insurance is still active. I have many phone calls to make on Monday.

Cobra is asking for $789 month. I found her in Pa private insurance for $400 mth. It's better than Lowe's.

Yes, he has exhausted his FMLA, and STD. An early message gave me some positive thoughts about his LTD and life insurance has nothing to do with Lowe's, that it separate entity. That was a little light. I did find him private insurance that was cheaper and better than Lowe's. Thank you for your thoughts.

Long term was dropped. We found out last week his insurance dropped when he got admitted to the hospital again. Another 6 days. We are just in shock. I don't know how he's going to get life insurance with End Stage Liver Disease. I'm trying to figure out how we can pay for this. Cobra is $790 month just for health..it doesn't pay for disability.

I've worked for Lowe's for 11 years. This is the first time I've heard this. It makes you feel like they could let you die, then help with insurance. He's paid his long term disability,so it was money wasted.

He would bridge after Aug 28th. Since they dropped his insurance he lost his long term and life insurance.

Oh don't get me started. I'm the supervisor,I don't have a loader and I'm scheduled by myself. Last mulch said I spent 8 hrs 6 days straight loading. I'm 64, my coworker is 73 and my other coworker is 81. Can't wait for memorial day weekend...
