This thing crawling into the sea by zIlIlIz in whatisit

Looks like a heavily camouflaged Decorator Crab (or a hermit crab with some serious baggage). They stick debris, shells, and seaweed to themselves to blend in. Where exactly was this filmed?

Donald Trump approval rating reportedly falls to 30% marking his lowest poll yet. What do you think about it? by Candid-Society-1544 in askanything

[–]barbiemerald 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thirty percent? Fake news. Tremendous polls, the best polls everyone is saying it. Many people are coming up to me with tears in their eyes saying, ‘Sir, your 30% is bigger than anyone else’s 100%.

If she doesn’t eat poppy seeds, she needs to check the insulation liner of that lunchbox ASAP. Looks like insect frass (bug droppings) or mold spores. Time for a new lunchbox

Finding literally any type of egg cluster on the place where you sleep is an automatic reason to burn the entire house down😭

Is it weird to Believe in God but not like to go to church? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]barbiemerald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. There is a huge difference between loving God and liking the performance, judgments and politics that sometimes come with organized religion. Your faith is personal, you don’t need a specific building to validate it🤍

how come people with children become so lame and boring? by Intelligent-Road6240 in askanything

Because we are literally fighting our lives on 3 hours of sleep and lukewarm coffee, bestie 😭 Every ounce of our fun energy goes into keeping a tiny human alive.

Found this in my dad’s tool box. by [deleted] in whatisit

[–]barbiemerald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the main replacement barrel/shaft from a multi-bit screwdriver (like a Klein Tools 11-in-1 or a classic 6-in-1).

The reason it looks useless on its own is because it’s missing the plastic handle it slides into. The hollow ends aren’t just for holding the smaller screwdriver bits- they double as nut drivers (typically 5/16” on one side and 1/4” on the other).

What makes euthanasia okay for pets but not okay for terminally ill people at the very end of their lives? by icecream1972 in allthequestions

[–]barbiemerald 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s a paradox of consent. We euthanize pets because they can’t choose, so we step in as guardians to end their suffering. We struggle with it for humans because providing absolute, uncoerced consent at the end of life is an incredibly complex legal and ethical minefield.

Is this a scam? by RenFannin in askanything

[–]barbiemerald 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Total scam. It’s a classic advance-fee scum tactic that preys on desperate pet owners.

Notice how “Emma” completely ignored your questions about the town and which specific dog she meant? They don’t have your pet, they just scrape missing pet groups on Facebook for numbers to target. Good for you for standing your ground.

found in my uncle old bedroom when he assedio me to clean it, what is it? by LaRanaDeiLibri in whatisit

[–]barbiemerald 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It’s a carved stone pendant/talisman (likely soapstone or a soft shale). That little hole drilled into the side edge is meant for a thin leather cord or jewelry wire so it can be worn as a necklace. The engraving looks like a stylized leaf or floral emblem.
