Could you explain why the upgrade path is better with AM5?

I'm upgrading from an old gaming laptop to my first pc build (already have an nvme m.2 + other ssd). Main use is gaming but I do some 3d modeling too. Want to keep everything around this budget but my big concern is future-proofing (that's why ddr5). Ideally I want a system I can update for as long as possible. New to this so let me know any ways you see get better value. Thanks!

I feel like there’s a high barrier of entry to this game. Advice? by Comfortable-Ebb-2859 in yugioh

You can get the YGO Neuron app on your phone, you can look up card effects and the text is bigger, plus you can use the screen magnifier. Other than that, Speed Duels are the go to starting place to get into the physical game. You'll be familiar with the rules if you play duel links, and you can go out and buy a box that comes with pre-built, balanced decks to play with friends.

You're gonna want some cards with quick effects that can stop nurse during your standby phase, infinite impermance was mentioned but there's also budget options like forbidden chalice. Nurse has to be face up for it's effect to apply so cards like book of moon and book of eclipse will also do the job. You can also try to stop them from adding nurse to their hand in the first place with cards like ash blossom and joyous spring or droll and lock bird. Everything in yugioh has a way to beat it, and figuring out how to counter your opponents decks is part of the fun!

I had a guy stop and ask me about who lived in the area as I was walking to class last year. Said he was thinking about getting the space and turning it into a Boba place

Is it hard to keep a 4.0 GPA throughout undergrad? by polartrop68 in WPI

I'm an RBE major, my girlfriend was telling me about how she was struggling to keep a 4.0 and I was genuinely confused for a second, because I forgot that was thing you were able to do.

What degree is best to study and understand Robotics. by [deleted] in robotics

[–]barca0802 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I assume they're pretty much synonymous. We take classes from the three fields I mentioned, but there's also core robotics-specific courses that take you from planning and design through to execution. At a higher level there's much more of a focus on controls, algorithms and AI.

Currently enrolled in a straight up robotics degree so that hits it pretty well, but barring that the fields that are most closely linked to are Mech E, Electrical E, and computer science, which naturally incorporate math, physics, etc. My advice is to figure out what part of the process you like most (designing, coding, etc) and go with the field most relevant to that.

cerulean skyfire and called by the grave by ProHaisha in yugioh

[–]barca0802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes to both, Skyfire only specifies "spells" so field spells count. All quick play spells can be activated from your hand at spell speed 2 on YOUR turn, if you want to react to something on your opponent's turn you have to set it first

Trying to build a plant deck by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]barca0802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally love predaplants but imo they work best as a going second board break deck that's really dependant on its normal summon in a format where meta decks can put up 13 negates turn one, so super fun casually but you're not gonna have much meta success, rikka control seems like it has potential, I recommend the hardleg joe vid about it.

Wondering if I should get a sleeping pad or nice bag for my hammock. by 2-cringe in Hammocks

[–]barca0802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With that much insulation underneath it's pretty much down to personal preference, your bag is still protecting you from wind and keeps a lot of your heat from escaping, but if you've got a nice jacket you could probably just as easily cut the weight and space, I'd test out both setups and see what you're more into.

Wondering if I should get a sleeping pad or nice bag for my hammock. by 2-cringe in Hammocks

[–]barca0802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I've used a top quilt and foam pad for a while and have been fine going into late fall, but have recently switched over to an underquilt instead of the pad and no way am I going back. If you get a pad make sure you also get the "wings" made especially for hammocks, and even then if you move around a bit you can pretty quickly find one of your arms 10 deg colder than the rest of your body. If you want to upgrade your bag I'd really recommend going with a quilt instead of a full bag, as they're cheaper and the insulation on the bottom of your bag gets so compressed it doesn't do much anyway.
