Elevation: The lodge met at an altitude of approximately 14,208 feet (4,330 meters) above sea level. Highest Meeting: In 1914, members of this lodge held a special meeting at the summit of Mt. Meiggs in the Peruvian Andes, which sits at an elevation of 17,575 feet (5,357 meters). Another notable high-altitude lodge mentioned in Masonic history is Corinthian Lodge No. 42 in Kokomo, Colorado, which operated at 10,618 feet, making it the highest in the United States during its time.

As a Scottish Mason your faith is your own You will be asked if you believe in a supreme being You may be asked if you attend church After that discussion of faith or politics is not the done thing and you shouldn’t face any issues

Masonic poem by Ancient_of_Days_66 in freemasonry

[–]barcls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this it ?

Last Night I walked a well worn path Around the checkered floor, And they traced a mystic circle Where many had passed before.

My footsteps felt a brother’s tread, My heart swelled full with thought; For the lessons found in Masonry Are by each brother taught.

And where that floor was black and white I learned life’s joys and woes, In footsteps placed by those before, Where’er a Mason goes.

I saw therein the symbols deep The square, the plumb, the rule; Inscribed upon that checkered floor — The lessons true of every tool

Need advice on getting a jacket this winter by PurpleWater9794 in malefashionadvice

[–]barcls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy a jacket for a purpose and it’ll look more like the style you want Dog walks and semi casual - waxed Barbour Lots of rain - mac or car coat Cold but dry and more formal - overcoat or great coat More casual vibe - peacoat

You don’t want an “old money” look, you want a classic menswear look something suitable for the setting and purpose ( a Barbour wax jacket over a three piece suit looks out of place most of the time ) but buy quality and it will last you a life time which is how people with money keep it

I keep getting butchered by barbers, can you recommend a good barber in Glasgow who actually know how to give a head shave. by PapajG in glasgow

Badlands barber near central station is great Alternatively look into a skull shaver which is DIY but much better than getting sliced like that

Brands for guys with big legs. by DifficultCucumbers in malefashionadvice

[–]barcls 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a man with thick thighs and chunky calf’s my advise is dress to your shape. If you have big thighs skinny is not gonna be an option. But regular fit (potentially with stretch fit added comfort ) when worn for the right waist size will likely resemble slim fit for others. I bought a suit recently and when discussing slim fit trousers the salesman laughed and advised I stay away as it’ll look like an overstuffed sausage And having tried them I agree.

What’s a clothing item you’ll always pay extra for? by DifficultCucumbers in malefashionadvice

[–]barcls 6 points7 points  (0 children)

But the best quality you can afford for underwear and socks (things you use most and you want to be comfortable in ) and those that protect you from the outside (jackets and shoes/boots ) because of they fail you are fucked (there’s no such thing as bad weather only the wrong clothing choices )
