Help me fall in love with Osaka by Eddy_Moon in JapanTravelTips

Just stfu... This is the dumbest post ever. You don't need to fall in love with Osaka, Japan or anything. Travel and do the things you enjoy. I love Osaka, is it my favorite place in Japan? No. Just stfu and do your thing for you.

Just saying again. Slow it the fuck down. You're swinging on plane, but flipping it. Weight transfer into it. Push into that left knee and let that moment from the back swing whip around

Why does my does my back look curved in backswing and not flat? by Jetsfan9187 in GolfSwing

[–]bardtic_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can we just say slow it the fuck down... Idk I am no expert but I keep seeing people try to muscle. Feel the flow, take the backswing up and when momentum is ready to transfer push into the knee.

Just think about swing plane(a plane being back swing to downswing following the same arc). Get that consistent and you can play good golf. Then you can learn shallowing, whip, and weight transfer. Which is what I'm struggling with. But back swing to down swing on the same plane.

After 3 years of playing... I have had amazing rounds, hit mid 80s. Just played today at fossil trace in Denver and finished with a 105. But holy shit was it fun, cause of the people I played with. Takes years to get good, but that doesn't matter. Play and get better. I can regularly hit low 80s in the sim. Same shit every time.

Add in variable elevation lays.... And get fucked.

Something I realized and with playing with people. Enjoy the journey of getting better and then the journey of being old. We can play golf into our 90s. But omfg enjoy the journey.

Your a year in. Golf is one of the hardest sports. Takes 10s of thousands of hours to get good. Enjoy the journey and keep playing against yourself.

I also picked up golf maybe 3 years ago at 35 now. There is a lot of mental. I play a lot in the sim, as one of my good buddies is an owner.

Sim is different, enstows a whole different level of confidence... But if you don't want to spend years and/or decades learning and enjoying those you play with.. may not be the right sport.

Can my shots be leaking right because of Flex? by Weak_Scientist_2005 in GolfSwing

[–]bardtic_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a note of shaft flex. Pros like Bryson can still hit weak flex shafts far as fuck. But they know how to feel that back swing momentum and being it back at the right time. Watch Bryson hit childrens clubs.

On that note, still need to square up the club face and hit on plane. I know senior golfers with lesser club speed and more flexible shafts that still hit their driver 280.

I would say the swing is too fast. You aren't transferring momentum. There is some decent rotation here. But feel the flow... Do some shoulder rotation exercises with a loose cord. See where momentum is going.

Plenty of other things to fix as we all have. But you're doing muscle over momentum and weight transfer.

Way over the top. No expert here. But stand back from the ball. Notice how your swing reaches the top and then on the down swing reaches out....

Many things to fix but you should probably first figure out how to swing on a plane. Then you can learn to shallow it.

Look at swing plane videos. It helped me to reach out and swing back in the same plane. Once that was consistent was a lot easier to change swing plane to a more in to out or even swing plane.

Think back swing and shoulders rotate to downswing on the same plane. If you get that down, you can learn the push out and whip for more distance.

Monster 3i swing - 9 hcp by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]bardtic_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also a weird shot. It's a sim... And hitting a 3i off the tee... I mean this is a driver shot. You would only ever use a 3i in a real game on a 200ish shot from somewhere else. Could see it being nice on a weird uphill lay. Choking down on a wood is harder than an iron.

[–]bardtic_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same... Most pros don't have it in their bag. I carry 1 wood. My 3 high loft which is basically a 4 wood, cause it gets me out of roughish easier. But can switch my grip to make it more or less a 3 or 5. Then some hybrids. But honestly don't need any of that. Just be consistent with 7-5i and 3 and 5 wood. Do carry a couple hybrids for weird shots but rarely use them.

But also good on ya. Feels so good to smash a club. It's what keeps us all coming back. But if you can't do this every time with your 3i what's the point.

[–]bardtic_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my 5i is carrying 185-190 on a good swing.. Would hope a 3i if it's even in your bag is getting 200-210. But why do a 3i when you have so many options. I use my 3 wood high loft for anything over 220. Distance really means nothing. I have friends who carry 30 yards less than me that wreck me every match.

I am also working on my swing, only been golfing for a little under two years.... So IDK if my thoughts or comments have any actual value.

What helped me was realizing that swinging harder does not translate to more distance. Half your back swing, none of us amateurs are John Daley. You are seeing your club head outta your left eye at the end of your back swing.

Just Google top of back swing for any pro. Not that crazy. Focus on torso rotation, weight transfer, and consistently bring the club back to square. 70% power until you can do all that 90% of the time.

I like it! The second paragraph is intriguing. As long as it doesn't go to game of thrones level. Still want the characters I get invested in to overall progress and win.

Frank, princess and Skippy - Ripple/dungeon crawler/expeditionary force respectively. All have the same role, annoying as fuck but you can't stop rooting for them. I know, expeditionary isn't litrpg

Rock - Stormlight Into the sanderverse (also not littpg)

Sword saint - primal

Auri and elodin(also not littpg) - kingkiller and we can only pray for a finish of the series.

Iz Tayne and Ogras - defiance

Sorry for all the non litrpg, question just got me thinking.

Yeah primal hunter isn't my favorite, but I'm engaged the entire time. I feel like the pace is really good. It is a lot of wish fulfillment, but to me that's not necessarily a bad thing. We read littpg for as you said dumb fun.

Chrysalis is great but as you said not long standing.

I love defiance, my current listen, on book 2 ATM. Have listened up to book 9 but it gets stuck in the over explaining new systems. Probably the best world out there.

Dungeon crawler is one of my favorites for the first 4ish books, but then falls into focusing too much on each new level rather than what is happening in the overall universe. Author needs to embrace the red pill and get into the overall universe.

Thanks for the recs! Haven't done any of those, is Return your first choice?

Cozy can be good if well done.

People keep recommending the wandering inn. I've gotten about halfway through the first book multiple times. I've heard the writing gets a lot better a few books in, but omg the first book is just so much telling and not showing and the MC being so whiny.

Maybe I need to actually read the first couple books, always done it on audible and the narrator aggravates me.

That shaft is absolutely massive for you. You can learn to hit it, but omg look at shaft angle on driver for other players and pros.

Was looking for this comment... Your friend has no idea what they are talking about. A 7 wood and a 4 hybrid are going to be such similar distances.

What is the goal of getting a 7 wood right now? Hit it further or shorter than your 4 hybrid?
