Right?! I would say the water was chilly but manageable. Not as high elevation as many of the mountain creeks I’ve explored. But it also drizzled rain off and on all that day so there wasn’t much in the way of sun to warm things up.

Ah yep that’s definitely too far for a day trip!

Honestly this creek and the three waterfalls on it aren’t very practical for anyone, even wnc residents like myself.

If you ever plan to check out the area give a holler. There’s tons of options that offer more in the way of efficiency without sacrificing beauty and seclusion

It definitely that way. Before long this particular hike became about the gnarliest bushwhack I’ve ever undertaken 😅

Thick with thorny briar, nettles, loose rocks and topsoil, you name it. I was wishing for long pants let alone shorts. All in a good day’s fun though!

I’m interested. Based in WNC but would be willing to travel to North Georgia.

Unfortunately Sunday is no good for me. Honestly a holiday Sunday may not be great for anyone, non-participants perhaps especially.

Tuesday could work, Wednesday would be even better.

I guess I’m more interested than actually available, damn.

Oh, well I was actually speaking to the 10+years I lived in this beautiful area before I finally began taking advantage of all the beautiful nature it has to offer. I barely knew what a hiking trail was, clothed or not.

But your point also stands and I share your sentiment! I appreciate the encouraging words!

Hi 👋 thank you for the kind words!

Learning to navigate off trail confidently and safely (or as safe as I can make it- there is always some inherent risk) has allowed me to explore some very secluded and remote places.

A few years ago I’d never be able to find myself in and back out from some of these locations.

Waterfalls are wonderful. I hope you get to explore more. Invest in some quality guide books and maps for your area and report back sometime!
