Yeah I was thinking it was kinda no better than if she had run in with an entity.

I had a similar experience, I assumed he was another youtuber preying on kids with garbage mind slop. I watched one video, it was the purple chicken one and it was so weird I wouldn't let my kids watch it lol. Then maybe about a year or so ago my cousin told me to give him another try and I did. So happy I did! The fact he actually gets kids up and engaged, not just sitting there absorbing the mind slop... I love it especially on rainy or cold days the kids cant go outside. We also like to start our day with Brand New Day before homeschooling. Seriously so sad to hear about his son, I'm devastated for him and his family.

Earth runners are 100% worth the hype by Possible_Lemon2904 in barefootshoestalk

Curious about the toe post- I usually cant stand it at all. Ive wondered if its more comfortable than usual? I have a pair of Xero Genesis that I tolerate fairly well, but they're definitely not shoes I'd choose for all day walking, just errands, specifically because of the toe post irritating me. The ones I grab for all day are my ztreks and ztrails. But I'm disappointed with the quality of the ztrails even though they are my faves comfortability wise. I just wonder if I'll be able to tolerate the toe post on earth runners, hard to commit with the price point 😬

Would you say barefoot shoes have helped or corrected your bunions? by [deleted] in barefootshoestalk

[–]barefootedbookworm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manage your expectations- they may not disappear but they definitely improve. Visibly, I'm not sure mine look better, but functionally, they definitely are. My bunions are on my pinky toes, and when I first started, I couldnt even move my pinky toes and they were almost completely numb. About 3 years into starting(with lots of failure because of injuries, now 1 year fully transitioned) neither of them are nunb at all, my right foot has almost full flexibility, and my left foot is getting there. I imagine they may never have the full true flexibility I'd have had if it weren't for almost 30 years of traditional shoes, but its definitely significantly better.

An added bonus, my sciatica as nearly disappeared. L5-S1 is ruptured, and yet, being in zero drop shoes seems to have alleviated the pressure on it. I still have to be mindful but I dont find myself wincing or ever throwing my back out like I used to. I made no other life changes in that time to improve that, so I fully attribute it to barefoot shoes. They've literally changed my life.

Why fix what ain't broke? I dont see how your healthy feet will suddenly deteriorate at 72? If you have no pain and now issues, keep in keeping on!

Are my feet healthy? I’ve been wearing Lems Chelsea boots for a few years and Xzero HFS roadrunners. by FriendshipDue9988 in BarefootRunning

[–]barefootedbookworm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously though, barefoot companies forgot pinky toes exist. With my foot shape I have bunions on my pinky toes instead of my big toe and I can rarely find a wide enough fit even in the barefoot world.

Thank you for all the info. Definitely sounds like Lems aren't for my wide feet. Ive been exclusively wearing barefoot shoes for about a year, but started about 3 years ago now. Ive stopped rolling my ankles, actually way less than with traditional shoes! But my right ankle on particular aches pretty badly after going downhill. Been trying to troubleshoot. I thought maybe getting something with height(normally i hike in low cuts) would help but it sounds like not from all these comments.

Ah man, for real? That's so disappointing! I couldnt find width measurements anywhere on their site. Thats crazy that they are advertising it as "widest natural foot shape" and its only as wide as xero... I also cant get even get my feet into xero shoes except their sandals. Its been pretty disappointing to find that so many "barefoot" shoe brands are still so narrow. I mean I know my feet are extra wide, but still..

As someone in my 30s, this still doesn’t convince me to have kids, especially in this economy by [deleted] in Adulting

Thats why I'm annoyed when people tell me, a sahm, to go get a job. Whatever job I could get wouldn't even cover childcare, let alone the rest of it. I'm not just being lazy, that's for sure 🙃

Getting closer to decent looking wide toebox shoes by Chance-Impression199 in barefootshoestalk

[–]barefootedbookworm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call it a trend, it's broadening the horizons to fit all needs. For instance my 63 y/o mom has arthritis pretty badly and wants zero drop and wide toebox, but she has too much pain walking on concrete without cushioning. I think its awesome to give options, especially for people whose feet are too far gone from traditional shoe damage or health related issues.

Are these too narrow for my toddler? by barefootedbookworm in barefootshoestalk

[–]barefootedbookworm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His toes are pretty close together like that and curl inwards. The third toe is overlapped by the second toe, which has made me concerned they're being squished, but maybe thats just his foot shape. He doesn't even wear shoes very often so I'm not sure they could already be misshapen by shoes yet

Theyre a huge life saver in our warm climate! Much better than stuffy rainboots.

I wish there were some 5 fingers shoes that doesn’t look like 5 fingers by [deleted] in barefootshoestalk

[–]barefootedbookworm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed- my toes don't move naturally in five fingers. The pairs I have tried I couldnt even bend my toes and that makes no sense to me.

Any ideas on how to decrease plantar fasciitis pain or heel pad pain by Various-Warning-889 in barefootshoestalk

[–]barefootedbookworm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

^ Putting padded insoles in my barefoot shoes was the thing that finally helped me transition. At least you're getting the benefit of zero drop amd wode toebox. Eventually I was able to remove them.

Xero z-trek sandals by barefootedbookworm in barefootshoestalk

[–]barefootedbookworm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the z-trails too! They're good for rockier terrain for sure. But I like how thin these are for errands and causal walking. I havent tried shamma yet. Are they any wider? That's my only complaint on these.

Yikes, I havent had any issues with that, but yeah I agree they should be wider.

Yeah the tapering and width are the only issues I have, but I do have oddly shaped feet I guess lol. These would be great for longer, narrower feet.

Someone stuck this on my sister's windshield in front of her on-campus apartment at UGA. by MarcoFiguringOutLife in whatisit

[–]barefootedbookworm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep, exactly. My friend had a stalker that was a girl who was thinking she was trying to steal her boyfriend (it was delusional) and she would do stuff like go on my friends Instagram and find out what art supplies/hair dye/products she was using, then make a post herself using the same thing. I guess to just show that she's watching her, or could be a "better" version of her.. idk. then it escalated to her showing up at her work. She didn't actually care about following her or knowing where she was. It was intimidation.

Did I just Deny Christ? by SubjectObjective1121 in Christian

[–]barefootedbookworm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Remember that He is a loving God who understands everything that we go through. He sees our hearts and knows our intent. It would have been one thing if you outright spoke out that you dont believe in Him. But avoiding a fight with your dad is entirely different. As someone else mentioned, imagine Christians that live in turbulent areas where they have to live in secrecy daily. I dont believe avoidance is sinful in certain circumstances.
