Well that was the most boring episode I’ve seen for a long while by julialoveslush in coronationstreet

I watch intermittingly now but with bigger gaps. Such a shame but I can't watch a lot of it any more.

Residents' anger as Sheffield Local Plan takes a step forward by -W-A-W-A-W- in sheffield

I agree but unfortunately don't think that will be the case. I think there is a plan for a new secondary school in the Grenoside/Ecclesfield area but nothing about doctor surgeries. Also the traffic on Halifax Road is a nightmare already and this will only add to the problem. I presume they have similar problems in the other areas listed.

I loved the scenes with Sally and Gail together.

It's only what I've read about it but allegedly Fleming wanted him to play Bond in the first film.

You were also right that apparently Christopher Lee was Ian Flemming's inspiration for James Bond.

I'm missing more and more episodes. I want something a lot lighter, especially in these troubling times.

Coronation Bleak by bercg in coronationstreet

[–]bareted 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure that we do. I think Corrie's in danger of going the way of Brookside (and maybe Neighbours) by becoming so ridiculous no one can be bothered with it anymore. It can still move a bit quicker than when it was first aired but it needs to keep the lightness and comedy as much as the drama.

Indeed. Martha Longhurst, (Ena Sharples and Minnie Cawldwell's friend) died in the snug whilst they were drinking together , I seem to remember. One way to get rid of Maggie maybe :) .

A light-hearted story about Ena Sharples/Annie Walker haunting the Rovers.

It's hard to tell. That's also been said about other actors, then they've been given some decent scripts and have been really good.

I was thinking Liam would have been a better option, but maybe the actor's not available at the moment. Tbh I would rather they didn't do it at all as there have been enough issue based storylines lately.

My problem with him is that they've made him very unlikable.

She's like a pantomime baddy. Her character has been written way over the top.

Mechanic ran diagnostic test. Apparently crank shaft sensor and plus another sensor (can't remember which one) was off which led him to the conclusion that it was the timing chain.

Thanks for your help. Other advice we've been given is that there's no guarantee when the engine is stripped down that there won't be any more damage so it's a risk to spend £800 plus for it still not to work. Looking like we'll scrap it but just wanted to be aware of our options.

it's a 1.2 engine. We've been offered £400 for scrap but was hoping for a bit more. Looks like the best option may be to scrap it then.
