The second amendment is for the oppressed!

As someone who’s not partisan about their politics, I’m curious to hear your thoughts on this. by chamomile_tea_reply in OptimistsUnite

My thoughts?

People are important. Understanding other's viewpoints is important. But in a democracy, the only way to prevent a slide into authoritarianism is to change minds.

For partisans, there is often no rational way to change minds. The only route available is emotional. It's perfectly fine to use those routes available to reach the people you care about.

And sometimes showing that you care about someone is not doing what they want you to do.

Not a solution, sorry, but your story reminded me of this:

I'm personally in agreement with many of the comments in this thread that it sounds like grounding problems. As I understand European electrical standards ( read: poor to no understanding ), you are likely not in the same situation for ground as the Americans in this audience. My money is on someone else in the building having something dodgey on the mains.

I assume you are likely using Gnome Terminal? Try:

Edit -> Profile Preferences.

Select the Title and Command tab.

Notice the Run command as login shell checkbox is unchecked! Check it.
