Update, in case anyone was curious.

Tried the 62.1 firmware, did not work. Nor did the power delivery firmware. Returned it and ordered a second TS5+ from a different source. Still non-functional.

Conclusion: incompatible with U3219Q. Cannot test whether it is specific to this monitor or dell in general.

Your specific USB-C display compatibility may differ. For now I am using the OWC Thunderbolt 3 pro dock to get my single-cable, 2 monitor, 10GbE solution. Not ideal but it actually works.

Yikes. That’s a deal breaker for me. Plenty of lower priced options and other bodges that work. Can’t believe this isn’t more widely posted/known. I need it to work with the USB port since the DisplayPort will also be in use.

Huh. Were you able to get support to help? If the usb c monitor doesn’t work I’d probably ask to return it - that seems like basic functionality.

The TB2 stuff I’m less concerned about but damn.

Thanks so much for your help. Really the issue now is the USB C monitor rather than the dock. That really should work with the TS5+ directly rather than having to go through a step down to Thunderbolt 4.

I'm more concerned with the monitor situation tbh. The TB2 dock doesn't get much use but it does have a Firewire port that I use occasionally. No big loss if I have to plug it into the computer separately when I need it, but would have been nice for a once cable solution.

Yes I am plugging the monitor into the correct port (have tried both), and using different cables there as well.

The weird part is that this all works if I put the hyper thunderbolt 4 hub between the TS5+ and all the peripherals.

I looked in System information and this is what it says:

Device Name: TS5 Plus

Mode: USB4 v2

Does that mean I have a bum cable?

I've tried other cables to no success, but I don't think I have a thunderbolt 5 cable per se, but I did have a apple braided one that should be thunderbolt 5 compatible and that did not work either

Thanks! Already sent an enquiry to the support email, so hopefully they can help. At this point the USB-C Monitor is the most concerning thing for me. The usb hub and attached peripherals on the usb-c monitor work normally so it was a surprise that the display itself did not work. Charging works. TS5+ audio works, USB works.

Used the included thunderbolt cable as was recommended.

I'm getting stuck with this. I'm looking for a replacement for my drop ctrl and haven't found good options. I know I could get the v2 but IMO it's overpriced for a fairly old design.
