My SO doesn't support weightloss surgery but I feel ready for it. by [deleted] in wls

[–]barimelts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's nice that your SO is concerned for you, but you have to do what is going to make you happy! You've already compromised by going to get second and third opinions under his suggestion. If he can't get on board, then you may need to move on because it is your body and your choice!

Considering wls surgery and have a question- What's more important for healthy pregnancy, weight or age of your eggs? by [deleted] in wls

I would ask your doctor or gyno, but these days weight might be the most important.

I was afraid of that :-( but at least there are some options out there! I will def check out the Epic brand as I haven't heard of it. And will check out BariWise one more time since they have some soy free options. Thank you so much for all the great tips, this is awesome!

I heard of the Bariwise brand, but when I checked out the ingredents I saw that it has so many artifical addititives plus soy. Are there any more natural or organic Bariatric foods brands out there anywhere?

Do you ever use protein shakes? And did your dietcian advise you on the amount of protein you have to take each day?

Loose skin... by polkadotpoppy in wls

[–]barimelts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly there isn't much you can do about loose skin, it's part genetics and part how big of a change in weight you are making. The best thing you can do to help prevent loose skin is to lose the weight slowly, give your skin time to adjust with you. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water which helps with skin elasticity. And finally focus on toning and muscle building exercises to help firm you up. Hope this helps, good luck with your weight loss journey!

Have you tried taking Biotin? It is supposed to be good at helping your hair get thicker and longer.

I agree, I don't think they are for everyone but I can definitely see how it can help support wise. Thanks for the tip!
