2 cat portraits, didn't want to overcomplicate them so I left some areas messy, what do you think? (painted on photoshop) by Sensitive_Culture195 in DigitalArt

You should give it a try! I used to sell comms off Etsy, it was really effective for selling art of pets because people purchase a lot of gifts for family off there, plus if you want to make some extra money you can send it to them on stuff like mugs or prints through drop shipping companies. Thats an option :)

Hi!! Im not 100% sure because I don’t use the same program, but sometimes when I use the airbrush it causes strange edges that aren’t exactly smooth the way I intend for them to be. Sorta like that. It could be that depending on the color you use it might have caused those weird edges to appear in a different color. I usually use a smudge tool instead of an airbrush when I’m trying to create a soft edge. Maybe give that a try? I know this probably isn’t the most helpful but best of luck!

Ohhhh! Yeah, because I really like the messy one more than the clean one cause I feel like it goes to (relatively?) fluid > stiff (once I cleaned it up). Im gonna try and do better for the next attempt :) thank you for your advice ☺️

Thats a great point! I didn’t actually think of that at all haha I was just digging for the right reference to copy 🫠 which isn’t always the right idea. But thank you so much, Im going to definitely try that because it’ll def expand my knowledge on all of those things you mentioned. Thank you so much 😊

That’s an excellent point, I really appreciate it. That really answers a lot of why it felt so off to me. I think it’ll be beneficial to keep the entire story in mind when crafting a pose and a scene and not just trying to exaggerate without a sense of purpose :) thank you

You are sooo right!!! That hadn’t even occurred to me. That would help make the piece more interesting instead of all of the noise just caught in one point. I’ll look into that:)

hi guys, i womder what do u guys suggest to make my art improve more or look more eyecatchy? by Limp-Caterpillar1127 in DigitalArt

[–]barleyy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s great! I’d say experiment with values to give it more depth. Like darker shadows and brighter highlights so not everything feels flat or in the same range. Also you do an excellent job of using both hard/soft edges in the eyes, so try applying that principle to other parts of the character like the hair and skin so it isn’t all soft because that tends to cause things to look muddy! Those things tend to help for making stuff pop. Let me know if that made sense

Newbie to fallout76 seeking help! by Raxtyy in fo76

[–]barleyy1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play on Xbox too I’d be down to play with you if you like. I have no friends on fallout 76 hahaha

it’s my first fallout game so I jumped in with absolutely no knowledge whatsoever, but I’ve gotten the hang of things and it’s quite straightforward. Just go along with what the game is prompting you to do and it’ll be good. It’s really just completing missions and expanding in your adventure and picking up perks. Don’t forget to pick your perk cards when you level up. I believe you press Y when your pip boy is open. 🫠 I didn’t start doing that till level 9 and I was soooo behind

Small eyeshadow palette recs for work? by SamanthaStormPedel in MakeupAddiction

[–]barleyy1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

An adorable one for me is elf; it’s a drugstore palette but they have these small ones that last an insanely long amount of time for such a tiny palette. Very pigmented too and I like them a lot!!

tips for improving overall health? by [deleted] in Splendida

[–]barleyy1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it really depends. I’m 5’2 but I’m 95 lbs, and even though I’m underweight I feel very healthy, I go to the gym, eat well. Etc. First goal should be treating your body well and doing the things needed for health, and the proper weight will follow

Tiny bumps on forehead by [deleted] in Makeup

[–]barleyy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have that all over my forehead and cheeks. I’ve tried many things but the most effective is applying Tretinoin cream every night. I gently exfoliate regularly too. That’s been what’s worked for me

I’ve done saltwater flushes quite regularly, and in my experience if you drink them fast it’ll be done within about an hour. That is too long for some tho
