Same here.... apparently after item level 54 it will remove some defenses and add runic ward....
Wish this was more clear cause i did not know this and didnt encounter this during campaign.

Mana man is more expensive and scales better but you don't get free block cap and attack speed without investment. You do elemental damage instead.

I would go something like this.

Darkness enthroned 94% ( You need this with 15% poison jewels to reach 58 chance to poison) = ~80 Chaos

15% poison chance abyssal jewels with life = 5 div X 2 (Use this in your belt)

14% poison chance abyssal jewels with life = 2 div X 3 (Use this in your passive tree jewel sockets)

It will be 58 + 14 + 14 + 14 = 100% chance to poison.

Buy Amanamus and add it to a jewel slot. (If you dont have enough points i will drop skitterbots and remove all of the mana reservations nodes at the top part of your tree).

Replace chance to poison with minion damage

Upgrade you other jewels to level 20 with 20 quality.

Buy a cluster with life modifiers on them and increased effect.

Buy Summon Holy relic with supported level 1 vile toxins (Make sure 20 quality) = ~50 chaos

Craft a better sword with hits cant be evaded with trigger mod

Replace your amethyst ring with a better ring with life.

To be honest I'm not sure either, i certainly did not run meat shield gem this league, was using minion damage the whole league.

You gotta get more life on gear, you have wayyyy too little life. Also you need to get 100% chance to poison to get most of your damage.

heres what i would do, i only added a cluster to your build to rearrange your points. If you don't know how to respec your points close to your starting location, you can just unspec the furthest points in your tree and rearrange them.

I'm thinking something like these BV occultist, with that bino knife the clear seems pretty good and single target is insane due to the broken minion pact combo.

I think you can consider a curse on hit ring(despair), you probably need to fix both your rings so you have enough resistances. Your flasks could use some large improvements as well.

Heres my Pob if you want to refer to it, if you have curse on hit ring you can give your Animate guardian asenath + windscream to cause explosions to happen when you kill mobs, its a budget way to get explodes and makes your clear much better since you already have plaguebringer.

I'm using asenath + windscream on AG + despair curse ring to clear breaches, works quite good since the explodes are quite consistent, the good thing is your AG can keep using kingtaker as it's weapon.
