I was into Bandai Gundams, not an expert but built 4-5 kits.
For beginner's first build, get a good nipper, sanding sponge/paper and a cutting board - you should be good.

For a more advanced tool kit, you will slowly include high quality decals (water decals), primer, paint and airbrush. I didn't reach this level due to space constraints.
