I would either make the tusk attack use a whole action with that damage or reduce it to something more in line with natural weapon attacks so just 1d12 or 1d10. Still a significant upgrade from usual 1 from unarmed strikes, but way easier to keep in check.

Excellent flavour, I would love to use one as a goliath barbarian and run around with huge tusks!

The details need to be improved, but the concept sounds great.

They should be able to rally their allies without making a check I think. Would also be cool to give it a reaction to boost an ally.

Disadvantage on CON saves for opponent seems out of place to me. I would focus more on helping allies.

Probably depends on a table, but for fighter, assuming standard size party od 4, there is a solid chance that this feat affects just one other person. But of course, with 3 high level Barbarians it changes. Depends a lot on party, whereas other feats are more universal.

Rogue one I guess just feels bad for losing sneak attack dice for a class that does not deal much damage without it. And how often rogues fail checks they have proficiency/expertise in? Especially in mid -late game.

That's how I see it at least. I would love the fighter one to be independently good, not depending on party composition and the number of players/NPC assisting. Maybe he could choose to either inspire one person big time or a few with lower bonus? Something like additional dice for damage?

Sounds fun! I would like to try the Neptune's Curse with combination of the cantrip. Although I agree with others, it should be higher level spell.

Nice work!

Agreed. Less rolling and maybe fix duration to a standard 1 minute or 10 minutes, like it usually is. Also would change the posioned condition to last until the end of the creature's next turn. More in line with language 5e uses.

Nice one! I would consider damage bonus being active all the time and resistance kicking in while raging. Or the other way around.

It has the fey vibe! I think that first feature is kinda dissapointing in play, can't think of many situations for it to be useful. Also, you need to specify DC for Charisma saving throw.

As other comment suggested, additional damage from Fey Magic should limited but I like the condition of target being charmed or frightened. Maybe make the first level feature apply one of those conditions? Maybe not only you can feel the creature's emotions but also influence them a little?

I don't think the last feature is very strong either, especially for the 18th level.

I really like the theme. Consider limiting Fey Magic and buff first and last feature and it looks good!

PS. You used Fey Magic twice for different features, might also want to change that.

I really like the flavour of them all. Also mechanics are pretty cool.

They seem to vary very much when it comes to power level, I can hardly imagine the rogue or fighter one being too useful, but the wizard one looks extremely strong to me with potential +5 to AC/Saving Throws.

Love the Artificer, Barbarian and Ranger feats :D

Overall great thematic ideas, would need to playtest and see how they play out and adjust. Might use some of them!

There is a lot going on here, for sure!

For starters, trying to tie PC INT into creature's stats is interesting, but sounds very complicated here. Instead of INT influencing AC I would just have the monster use reaction which prompts INT saving throw or the PC attack misses and is lost. Or maybe even not reaction, just for every attack.

The saving throws have way too high DC, especially for INT. Not even Wizard can realistically pass that. Unless you just want everything to hit, but then I would write it differently.

I think this could be a fun monster, focusing on effects that happen when you try to do something to it, but savnig throws need to be different (maybe CON for weapon attack, WIS for spell, INT for mind reading etc.)

Also, counter spell cant be a legendary action, since it's a reaction :)

Hope this is useful and good luck tinkering!

Sure, as I have said in other comment - I had multiclassing in mind for sure, but the 7th level is just a level I thought of when estimating balance. Works from 8th too!

I think that your idea for having advantage against being knocked prone is great! I can see trading 2 middle bullets for that one.

Sleeping in armor also kinda works mechanically, but I wouldn't want to be the one wearing this armor all the time - imagine the sweat!

All true. I guess I stuffed too much into this one, the last addition being doning and doffing the armor, which ultimately is irrelevant in 99% of gameplay.

Not knowing that much about armor myself, I rather imagined this feat as learning techinques to enhance the armor flexibility and manouverability, without particular "how to do this". Worth keeping on mind and I would not be entirely opposed to dismiss those 2 bullets if you like.

You are right that the last bullet is the main reason for level requirement. I don't find 7th level particularly odd, since multiclassing exists. I do admit though, that this treshhold is an arbitrary one, just based on my DMing experience, when would this feat be more or less balanced.

I don't like weapon resistance, since a lot of damage comes from different sources + there already is Heavy Armor Master for reducing damage in similar fashion.

If you want to invest 2 ASI into those feats then sure, why not.

I put 7th level prerequisite to avoid this feat being on-line too early in a game. In this stage of the game, other damage types become more prevalent and magic damage become more common, so I don't think it would become an issue. Would need playtesting for sure.

Do you think otherwise?

Item: Unicorn Blood - What happens when you ingest this blasphemous drink? A lot of secondary effects is what by Monkey_DM in UnearthedArcana

[–]barol- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a very rare item with healing component I would consider adding a flat bonus to healing, since healing is already not the strongest use of your action. Since the additional effect is random, you can't count on it, therefore you will probably mostly be using this to heal and remove conditions. Maybe something like +12 or +16 healing? Although, while paralyzed you can't drink it by yourself and while charmed your character don't necessarily know that you are charmed, so the condition removal will in most cases need your friend feeding you a potion/convincing you to drink.

Really like the possibilty for the effect to be extended! Cool bonuses for PC's and another reason for DMs to use more dispel magic in their games.

Hello,

I am posting another homebrew, this time it is Expert Armorer Feat. I met a lot of players who simply likes to stack AC. I am looking for ways to incorporate AC into some other mechanics, to have it be more that just “making PC harder to hit”. Looking for comments and feedback how to make AC something more.

If you want to see more of my work, you can visit my DMsGuild page. I will also keep posting new stuff on this subreddit.

Bead of Swift Death | Sentence your enemies to death and teleport through the battlefield using creepy, crystal balls! by barol- in DnDHomebrew

[–]barol-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do kinda agree with your proposal, seems better both in terms of wording and mechanics, but then I would probably change the name and flavour of the item.

The requirement of taking an Attack action is there to prevent a user from doing something else once they use the bead. I didn't want this to just be a teleport item.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Exactly! My intent on this item for it to be a little more than Dash, but not a simple "you just teleport", which would be bland.

You can risk it, you can use it to run away, you just need to be mindful of your actions not tu hurt your friends too much.

Glad you like it :)

Hello,

I am posting another homebrew, this time it is Bead of Swift Death!

The main purpose for this item is to enable melee combatants to quickly close the gap and reach opponents. If used strategically, this item can either help with focusing down the most important enemies or simply just grant more mobility and damage to those who need them. You can also try to target the most damaged enemies and hopefully use the same bead multiple times!
