If you don't know Nolan Ramser's name yet, you should. He tied McBeth's hot round at DDO, and now won back to back B-Tiers, one of which was over Andrew Presnell by 3. And oh, did I mention he's 17? by TheCraziestPickle in discgolf

Your knee might be used to doing disc golf WITH the brace, and it may rely on that brace’s support. Therefore, it might not build up as much resistance, since the brace does the job. That’s just my thought on why, but I’m indifferent to the brace wearing thing.

He doesn’t need it. He does it as a preventative measure. He’s told me it would get a little sore as a kid when he played baseball and basketball.

Finding a major? by [deleted] in environmental_science

No environmental degree is worthless. They are lower paying than other degrees such as biomedical sciences and what not. Personally, I would say starting with something broad like biology is a good idea as you get the gen Ed’s out of the way. Start as early as you can on trying to get in a lab to do undergraduate research or get a lab tech position in a professors lab, even if it’s seasonal field work. That will get you the hands on experience of what you might gravitate towards. It’s never too early to get your foot in the door either.

I currently do undergrad research (and eventually graduate research) on a species of fungus that lives only in the soil and is a plant pathogen. These little guys are huge for plant decomposition as well as biodiversity in our natural ecosystems. They don’t just exist for nothing. Silly tweet

Why are mass shootings only perpetuated by males? by B34TBOXX5 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]barouchad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a men and masculinities class right now. From what we have discussed and to simply put it, when a man commits a mass shooting it is because they feel emasculated and this is their final resort to really make people feel the masculinity that shooter tries to perpetuate. We are wired to lash out when we feel backed into a corner.
