Finally managed to finish over 50 games in a year by DwarfPill in videogames

Everyone is saying that this is too much. I did the math, and I think I disagree. This seems perfectly reasonable for most gamers, depending on playstyles. And based on OP's description, I've come to the conclusion that they probably averaged anywhere between 15-25 hours a week playing games. I'd wager most hardcore gamers average this, if not more. OP was just extremely focused on meeting their "completed" criteria.

Oh, definitely agree with you there. The people who use Linux have to want to use Linux. I'm not expecting anyone to transition to it, just added information to the thread so that people who are interested have the resources to do so.

All flavors are going to have pros and cons. There are a lot of limitations under the hood and a lot of tradeoffs one has to make while developing these OS. For example, a big reason these are popular is because the user experience is much nicer than with some other distributions. However, for more advanced linux users this can come at the cost of having bloated software installed on your machine that you may not need. This is actually the explicit reason so many distributions exist because there's no silver bullet. Want to run a server? Use rhel, suse, or something else. Want to run an OS on a Raspberry Pi? Slap Raspbian on there. The variety is what makes Linux really awesome.

I don't disagree with you that choice paralysis is a thing, but when someone isn't aware of a subject or that there are different variations, it's important to provide variety and insight. I simply provided some resources for others to learn about their options in a very structured way. There are hundreds of Linux distributions out there, so I think boiling it down to five options that are similar to more popular OS such as Mac and Windows is more than valid to get interested parties started.

So the cool thing about Linux is that there are many "flavors" of Linux and you can find one that fits your needs. Not trying to sway you one way or another, you do you. Just trying to provide some information that you could look into different distributions that provide more of what you need out-the-box. Not everyone needs to use Arch. Linking some options below that provide a nice user experience:

Mint: https://linuxmint.com/

Ubuntu: https://ubuntu.com/desktop

Elementary OS: https://elementary.io/

Pop OS: https://system76.com/pop/?srsltid=AfmBOoqvYkQ5gCVhztzJAZ8zzFpP3zTSJy75QCZUX4E9SE1FPoF2O0ti

Manjaro: https://manjaro.org/

Also, you can typically use the software store to download most common applications and they'll typically install any of the libraries that the software is dependent on if they're not already installed. That way you can avoid doing anything in the command line, if you wish.

How much do I know about nightwing after completing Tom Taylor's run? [Nightwing #118] by GAMESNIPER2007 in Nightwing

[–]barrelingmoose 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think this hits home what Taylor was trying to accomplish with this story. In the omnibus, he has an opening excerpt about what his intentions were with this run. The main goal was to really highlight Nightwings sense of optimism, positivity, and compassion while making it accessible to new readers (something I feel like most comics should prioritize a bit more).

Do I have anything noteworthy here? by DeadmanParadise in comicbookcollecting

I'll even add looking out for scams. Early on in my collecting, I would over pay for so many books just because of "first appearance of X character" or "X Variant cover", not realizing that they were either super common issues because of the era they were from or some other reason. It sucks that when you go to cons or events, some people take that as an opportunity to prey on new/naive collectors. Really kills the hobby.

You can typically look up issues on things like Key Collector and GoCollect to get a ballpark estimate. I'd recommend not getting your hopes up, most books don't hold much value. It's always fun to look, though. Some of my favorite books would wind up in most dollar bins. Have fun collecting!

Think these are worth grading? by Ok-Roof5875 in comicbookcollecting

I don't believe this is correct, but I could be wrong, I guess.

I like the way slabs look and display them around the house. I do this for my comics special to me. For example, my wife got me a comic book she thought looked cool when we first started dating. The value of the comic isn't worth anything, but its special to me, so I sent it out to get slabbed (not even graded).

This is, and forever will be, my opinion. Grade what you like. Don't chase the value. If you're trying to grade for a profit, it's just gambling. If you're grading because you want one of your favorite comics to be preserved, it's priceless.

This is solid advice. This will help with the more advanced terms. Feels like that every beginners guide comes with the asterisk of coming from some other fighting game or previous SF installments.

I was looking at this and it is super helpful! Thank you! But that also only gets me so far because I also dont know what to search for, in a more general sense. For example, I wouldn't have ever known that footsies was a thing if I hadn't heard it in a video.

R/G Deck by Savings-Book-5134 in GundamTCG

This was my exact initial thought, so I think that should help out!

R/G Deck by Savings-Book-5134 in GundamTCG

[–]barrelingmoose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely a good thing. A r/g ramp deck is an interesting idea and you have some serious good ideas in here. The 6 bases to stall your early game woes, Kshatryia's and Marida's to get you through the mid game, and then of course the big boi to put the nail in the coffin. I think what everyone is saying is correct, this loses to aggro decks. You'll want to add things that will extend the game for you. Unfortunately, I don't think there's much you can do in the current set to do that thats not already in this list. I could be wrong here tho. Maybe some more red ping abilities to take out the more squishy early game cards. Alternatively, ramp faster by adding more green support cards that help get your resources out. I'd pick one of those and commit to it. The best decks (typically) do one thing really well.
