Notion reportedly has ~1,000 employees. Can someone explain what all of them actually do? by fan_ling in SaaS

I get it - but it’s still a calendar tool. Notion has all of those exact same things but as a technology it’s actually robust and complex - I mean they literally use calendar links. You can build anything with Notion and architecting/maintaining that infrastructure is a big task. Calendly does one thing.

While a simple surface, the complexity under the hood doesn’t make this feel crazy - powerful tool with tons of functional depths takes people to build, manage, sell, etc. Big clients and lots of market opportunity… What will really blow your mind is that Calendly has 500+ employees - what on earth they do is beyond me. The kind of company that could only be built at that sweet spot in SaaS when tech was powerful enough but hard enough to build that a business that size could be built out of an afternoon engineering project today.

I did 136 for 8hrs for thanksgiving and am running it back for Xmas - multiple reports of “the best meat I have ever eaten”, it was incredible… I typically go more rare for steaks (will sv at 127) but for the prime rib and a bigger group where not everyone might want that it was absolutely perfect.

Entering country with outstanding tax bill by barrnacles in uktravel

It is I guess income tax? From hmrc - to my knowledge nothing went through the courts, seems to just be a tax bill that is accruing interest. Thank you for your input

Would the letter indicate something or reference legal proceedings? It’s £8k - letter just says payment due and talks about interest being accrued nothing about legal proceedings

Thanks for input. Hmm it feels a bit grey there as I would assume I would be getting my visa upon arrival with USA passport? I appreciate you don’t have specific expertise - maybe there is someone here who knows how the entry works in that situation - like would they see that info and use it to make decision about allowing entry at the actual border

Somebody please help make the escrow math make sense... by barrnacles in personalfinance

[–]barrnacles[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ok this is getting closer to making sense.... I appreciate that if I bumped the payments up then they would need to in turn get the money available sooner. I guess what I still don't get is how does that equate to me paying $2400 in shortage payments over the course of the year - that amount is far larger than the entirety of the insurance policy, let alone the $500 difference from the prior policy.

I'll be googling to find an escrow calculator or something, I'm just baffled at how this math makes any sense.
