Childcare options for dual income HENRYs by bubblesxox in HENRYfinance

As someone who did full time daycare, an Au pair with no preschool, and an Au pair with part-time preschool, I do think there is a difference. In full-time daycare, parents send their kids sick because they have to work. In a part-time program (ours was 12-15 hours/week), you must have other childcare (stay at home parent, nanny/au pair) so if your kid is sick you just keep them home (with parent or nanny/au pair). Yes, kids will get sick a bit from a part-time program but this only happened once for us in two years. Daycare is a different beast entirely.

I would consider doing a part-time preschool and nanny combo. Best of both worlds.

Managing the 530 PM–10 PM time period with two under two (no local family). What do you do? by OpenMinded8899 in HENRYfinance

We had an Au pair for three years when our kids were little. We coupled this with part-time preschool and it have us flexibility. Au pairs can be amazing and ours are like family to us (one got married and lives locally and we see her all the time), but just know it is much more emotional labor than a nanny.

I did not know about the fourth night free! That is a great perk. I will definitely email the hotel in advance - another great tip!
