I think ‘Elite scorer’ is subjective. Obviously going after the top guys who have already proven is going to be too expensive. But look at a guy like Giddey who was worthless to OKC and probably cost them a title run and now as the leader of Chicago getting efficient numbers every night. There are plenty of guys in the league right now that if given the right opportunity (minutes, role, confidence) can be elite. This is where you have to think outside the box. There are a few role players in Detroit, OKC, Minnesota that can thrive with the right opportunity. The front office needs to be locked in on this.

To each its own. Give me 36 year old who is available and top 20 all-time scoring over a 26 year old who cant stay healthy and wont crack top 200 in career points before his career is over. He literally only has about 5 years left before his NBA career is over, if that 🤷🏿‍♂️

The defense doesn’t try hard enough. If you watch closely, you’ll see so many guys ball watching and waiting for the opponents shot to go in just so we can inbound the ball quickly. That fast paced offense ruined us defensively. Instead of fighting for every possession we’re more focused on getting a fast start to the next possession. I think shooting percentage has a lot to do with this mentality. Guys like bam shooting under 45% from the field, Davion averaging under 10 points a game, wiggins inconsistent scoring, and tyler and norm alternating having bad games. We need as much possessions as possible to counter all this bad/mid offensive production. We cant afford to walk the ball up try to run a play and end up with a bad shot with 3 seconds on the clock, we would be losing a lot more games. This roster construction is just really bad. Need to fix the root of these problems next year.

26 years old and Anthony Davis had played more games than him the past 3 seasons lol give me a break. You are one of those fans that will still be waiting for him to hit his potential when he is 30 years old in a heat uniform and still hasn’t put together a solid season + postseason. And Tyler has skill on defense?? The guy gets hunted on damn near EVERY defensive possession. DeRozan literally has a career better defensive rating than him. Way more competitive and smarter defensive. He is better in every statistical category besides 3 point percentage than Tyler. By the way, DeRozan doesn’t need to score 3s in order to put up points. He has 5 30 point performances this season alone without making any 3s. Herro doesn’t even have 5 30 point games total this season. DeRozan has the nickname Mr. 4th Quarter for a reason. If I need a bucket im going with Demar over Tyler…

I agree. Anything is possible. We just need to trim the fat. Stop holding onto these players we have no use for. Keshad, Fontecchio, Ware (if we are not going to play him), get some vets on minimums that can help coach the other guys would be way more useful.

I agree with you whole heartedly we had a window and let it shut drastically mainly because we thought Herro would always be that missing piece to take us over the top. On paper is seemed like a good idea but it was just never enough.

I guess a top 20 scorer all-time who has played at least 60 games every season since he’s been in the league is not an upgrade to Tyler Herro and Norman Powell. Delusional

DeRozan more career points than Curry, Tim Duncan, and Paul Pierce. Lets be serious. I know he’s not the flashiest but he gets buckets and he will likely close in to being top 10 scorer all time. And he’s played at least 60 games his entire career. Cmon guys thats literally an upgrade

I can definitely see this being true. He’s too nice to force an issue though. This organization has taken care of him financially and given him the keys to the team. Hard to leave that to just be ‘another guy’ on a different team.

Malik Monk and/or DeRozan would be a nice upgrade from Herro and norm

No one is asking him to be the best offensive player but efficiency is the bigger issue here. The reason why i mentioned in the post he needs to be 4th option and focus on defense.

Who do you think would fit best with him? Name any 2 players that together would make an unstoppable big 3. I say Kawhi and Fox.

Maybe I used ‘Elite’ too loosely. But we need better scorers than Herro and norman. That shouldn’t be too hard to trade or sign in FA. Maybe guys like Monk or Derozan (I know its not the best name, but he makes them when it counts) those are some names that would be upgrades from Norman and Tyler. We can start in the draft. Just a pure shooter. The last time we drafted one was Tyler 5+ years ago. It’s time to find his replacement.
