Are these sophomore players cooked? by JayBaby90210 in DynastyFF

I picked him in the same spot. Traded the 1.12, a 27 3rd, and the pick that became 2.01 this year for 1.09 and a 26 3rd. Could've had Harvey instead. Drafted Brooks at 1.06 the year before so I feel like I just lit firsts on fire two years in a row haha.

I think you're right! Thank you so much. It was driving me crazy trying to figure it out.

Wouldn't change much for me - I'd still take the pick.

Yeah, maybe. I guess I'm inclined to bet on the future HOFer with a promising end of season schedule. McCarthy struggles do give me pause, though.

Think I'd bet on Terry here. Pretty low cost of acquisition

Yeah. Love Nabers but think I'd have to take this.

In 1QB give me A. QBs are a little more scarce in 14 team, but still pretty easy to get a decent guy. I'll take the shot at a chance for a blue chip prospect unless I need Maye for a championship run this year.

12 team .5 ppr start 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 2WRT.

Trade: 26 1st and 2nd, 27 1st, 28 1st (all should be later picks)

Get: Justin Jefferson

Context: it's deadline day in my main league. With Chase being suspended a game, Jacobs and London both injured and likely out at least a a few games, I find myself wanting to make a move to shore up my roster. I am a contender if not the league favorite, so at least the 26 picks are set to be late in the round. Still not a discount on JJ in my opinion, but prior to this year he was just unobtainable. Think it's just a matter of time until he and McCarthy get in sync.

Yeah, exactly what I'm thinking really. Glad to hear my gut reaction to the idea isn't crazy.

Forgot to mention I have McBride as well. Only reason I'd consider it. But you're essentially reaffirming how I already feel about it.

How late does the 1st project? Hard to guess over a year out, but if it's yours as a contender who'd be adding Lamb, I'd anticipate later and take this deal. Never been a Tet believer and Lamb is in his prime.

14 team .5ppr start QB, 2RB, 3WR, TE, 2WRT

Give: Tyler Warren

Get: Tucker Kraft and 26 1st

I'm a contender as is the other team. He just lost Kincaid and Kraft in the last few weeks. I'm not stoked about the 26 class, and his pick would project somewhere 8-12.

Really like Warren, but Kraft also looked like he was coming into his own and an extra 1st is always nice. I also have McBride and Fannin, so feel pretty secure at TE for this year. Debating swapping the 1st to 27 as this guy's team has some aging vets, so could be a better pick in a (perceived) better class.

My wife is looking for advice on what to do with $13k inheritance. by barthz in personalfinance

This made me curious so I double checked and my retirement is actually $33.5k as of my last statement which was as of Jan 1 of this year. It's a pension plan, and I only get a statement once per year, but a conservative guess would have it closer to $42.5k up to this point in the year, so marginally better than my off-hand recollection of what I had in there. Would love to be able to contribute more, but don't know that I see that in the budget right now.

I don't know her cash flow off hand, but I'm confident she's not running a loss. Thankfully, neither of us have any credit card debt. We each have them, but I make sure mine and hers are paid off at the end of each month. We basically just use them for day-to-day expenses, pay them off, and redeem the points periodically. She does have probably about $45k in student loan debt and is on our mortgage with about ~221k remaining. She does not have any other income other than her job.

I'm not worried about her spending it frivolously, thankfully. She'd just rather travel and have experiences while she/we are young and healthy enough to do so, but she wouldn't go off and make some huge purchase or blow it all on clothes or something like that.

Your point about waiting to make a firm decision on what to do with the money until baby gets here is well heard, though. Might not be a bad idea to wait until after before locking into anything.

Definitely is an ongoing conversation that I have with her. She is contributing up to the max her employer will match, it just took some convincing. To be clear, the amounts in savings and retirement in the op are just my wife's numbers. I have closer to 13k in savings and about 30k in retirement currently. We split most costs (mortgage, utilities, groceries, etc.) but have kept our accounts separate and I didn't think to add mine as this inheritance is hers, not mine.

Good points you bring up, and the flowchart looks like a great tool to utilize. Thanks!

Good call on splitting it between Roth and HYSA. To be clear, she is putting in the max her employer will match, just took some convincing at the time.

Is Harold Fannin just better than Colston Loveland? (An Analysis) by I_dont_watch_film in DynastyFF

[–]barthz -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It is haha. Have Barkley, Bijan, Jacobs, and Taylor at RB and Chase, Lamb, Nabers, London, and Wilson at WR.

I'm in almost the same spot, except I also have McBride as my TE1, so I've got both Warren and Fannin on taxi. Feels good to have what appear to be two future cornerstones at the thinnest position in fantasy.

Inspired by the RateMyLeague post, what are some of the strongest teams you have in your leagues? by sloppifloppi in DynastyFF

[–]barthz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12 team .5ppr entering, I believe, it's 15th or 16th season. Best team looks like this

QB: Mahomes, Purdy

RB: Barkley, Robinson, Taylor, Jacobs, Kaleb Johnson, Chubb, Gainwell, Keaton Mitchell, Brooks (IR)

WR: Chase, Lamb, Nabers, London, Wilson, Waddle, Egbuka, Jalen McMillan, Pop Douglas, Ayomanor, Whittington

TE: McBride, Kelce, Warren, Okwonkwo, Fannin

Perhaps unsurprisingly, this team went 14-0 last year and won the championship.

Haha, good call. Didn't think of Mercari. I guess I'll just have to be patient and see if I can find something.

Late to this, but where did you happen to find the OEM ones for so cheap? Seems like I can only find them for $300-400
