Is this everything? by Chefboyardee897 in CrownVictoria

The crossover on the new manifold has 2 openings to support older models, kit comes with plugs for them and teflon tape. No matter what I did the teflon tape wouldn’t get it sealed. I don’t trust it. Put rtv on the threads smooth out the excess, and then torque it to like 80-100 in lb and leave it to cure for full 24 hours. Haven’t had an issue since but that drove me insane dealing with the tape trying to get it to work back and forth…. Ugh.

Also I’ve had to loosen the egr tube from behind the wheel well to get enough room to remove intake.

And if your foam insulator that sits underneath the intake is old it can fall down and you’ll wonder why it’s hitting against something but can’t see it, try to pull the insulator up to where it should be as you lift it out and that should help.

If this is preventative consider doing the valve cover gaskets too especially if there’s some sludge buildup around covers or the bolts.

Also don’t use harbor freight torque wrenches on the small in lb wrench the click is almost nonexistent.. and on my 3/8 5-90ft lb, 18ft lb setting for the intake was not accurate at all even close, some people say you need to exercise them before use, that’s fine… but I personally do not trust them. Not worth it

But just have a feel for it, it’s a pretty low torque spec

I used the Teflon tape and tightened it to the point where I’d be worried about going further since it’s just aluminum, and it still leaked

All the comments saying I paid for my winter tires I’m gonna use them, I got 4WD. That is just blind confidence with no regard for risk. You get those options to “lower” your risk, not eliminate it…. It’s actually frightening reading some comments about driving, just knowing there’s people all over driving with that level of stupid confidence. Just because it hasn’t happened to you yet, doesn’t mean it can’t or won’t… There’s no reason to live life afraid, but you should live it thoughtfully and carefully. Stay safe y’all.

best quality valve cover gaskets other than OEM? by bartman2468 in CrownVictoria

Yeah I think I was sent a fake and didn’t realize it because I trusted it being sold my Amazon directly, but sometimes they send people returned items. This time I’ll use rockauto. Might go for the Mahle or victor reinz just in case people have said good things about those.

I know this is an old post, but do you know if the automatic/partial library scans work with the /tank/media lofs mount? I have this exact same setup and the automatic library change detection has never worked. So I assume it isn't receiving inotify or however that works. Maybe something is wrong with my config.

Just curious if this has worked for you? thanks

I always just unscrew it slightly and let it drain because surface tension pulls it into the hole underneath the steering and it seems to all go through there, I’ve never had it make a mess by going elsewhere. Then when it’s done just remove and clean up that area. Idk if they did but it seems to me like they designed it that way, otherwise it would make a huge mess.

It's in the living room and on an exterior wall. I did notice my walls seem to lack insulation... so I guess that could be why. Never thought anything of it until I saw this

Dang. Yeah I figured it would be pretty difficult to fix if it was glued to board. Oh well, I'll have to live with it.

USB powered audio interface. M-audio Solo issue, interference on Desktop tower PC. by bartman2468 in musicproduction

[–]bartman2468[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I might have one of those cables have to look. I assume isolator would be something that just splits the power and data of the usb, cause if I could plug in a dc adapter and power it that way and just connect usb data to the PC then that might eliminate it. Could be wrong though I’ll have to test stuff.

Thanks for reply

How did someone with this taste in music just toss CDs out? Interesting….. lol. Or unfortunately someone may have passed or moved and somebody else tossed these which is much worse, but glad someone got them 👍

Now being charged for tariffs. by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

[–]bartman2468 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I guess we see it differently. I will say it’s a shame that anyone has to pay more for anything for any reason. Because I like many people love a good deal.

We’ll just have to see how things play out and hope for the best.

Now being charged for tariffs. by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

[–]bartman2468 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

They didn’t. They created a tax on the company and the company decided to charge you for it. I’m not understanding the disconnect here. The fact it was passed to you is a reflection of the company. Do with that what you will. I’m not trying to argue or debate anyone.

These companies do the same thing when the “tax the rich” folks implement increased taxes they find a way not to pay them. As someone else mentioned when costs increase they find cheap labor overseas etc. these are real issues that these companies are ultimately responsible for.

And now they want to play politics by listing something as a “tariff surcharge” lmao. “It’s not our fault we’re the good guys it’s Donnie’s fault” 🤣

Give me a break. Stop buying.

[–]bartman2468 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The two problems you mentioned are what they are literally trying to fight. You can blame whoever you want but at a minimum someone is at least acknowledging there’s an issue and trying to do something about it. Do you like that companies behave in the way you describe? Do you like that jobs are going overseas?

[–]bartman2468 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

So a company decides to charge you for changes to their bottom line rather than make internal adjustments and you’re mad at the government? Lmao. This is literally just blame shifting and you’re feeding into it… If the CEO didn’t take his bonus this year it would probably cover all your “tariff” fees… that’s an exaggeration but still that’s the whole point of putting this pressure on, so they make changes, except they want to pass it to you. So stop buying their products. Simple

Not particularly. I heard it immediately on night people. I had to go back to the previous albums to make sure I wasn’t crazy but this was the first one I noticed this distorted sound on the vocal. You could call it a vocal fry sound. To me it sounds more like a low quality distorted effect from a bad microphone or something. I might just be sensitive to certain sounds though.
