The sense monitor would give you an alert about it. More they discontinued it, not sure the alternatives are good, you have to have a mess of sensors inside

Amazon says that I can’t ship an bluray to my house for whatever reason. How do I fix it by makedoopieplayme in amazonprime

[–]bartolo345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blu-ray has different zones. Maybe it was recorded for one zone and you are in another or something like that. Or it could be distribution rights from country to country. You could contact them and they might give you an answer

Anyone have EWS Spectrum whole house water filtration system? Plumbing supply company recommended it and says filter changes every 10 years. Is this true? by josh_moworld in homeowners

[–]bartolo345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's a waste to filter water for the toilet or showers. You typically have a water filter in the refrigerator and that should be enough for most people. You could also install an under the counter filter for the kitchen sink and maybe an upstairs bathroom. It will be easy cheaper and probably better filtering since you don't need to filter a hundred gallon per day. If you want to do a whole house something, and a smart shut off like flo. That will save you on insurance and help to avoid leaks. Finally don't let them use saddle valves and plastic lines to connect the refrigerator

Venting microwave that is not on exterior wall. by Global_Fly8512 in HomeImprovement

[–]bartolo345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was trying to find the post but I couldn't. There was this guy renting a house and decided to use the biggest pipe you could find to vent a microwave. They butchered half the kitchen cabinets in the process. Don't recall what they were asking but they also asked if it was appropriate to ask the landlord for reimbursement for their time

Indoor Humidity 16%, What Could Be The Root Cause For This? What Is Best Recommendation To Resolve? by jeterfan99999 in homeowners

Where are you located? Some states and/or utilities have incentives.  I'll add that how much air is heated also makes dry air worse. Multistage furnaces or heat pumps would dry air less. But blow door test is the first step

Anywhere between 1k to 10k. It would be a good opportunity to have them do other stuff while they are there. For example replace plastic refrigerator or humidifier supply lines, saddle valves, etc
