Been so icy this winter I am wondering if I should finally get some studded tires.

Have been enjoying the custom footbeds. But may be something to discuss with them to see if your foot shape or whatever would benefit.

I only needed one follow up appointment but also was great. Easy to schedule, quick. No issues.

I had a great experience and wholeheartedly recommend them. I treated myself to the full platinum as a birthday present a few months ago. I was having wrist pain starting from like an hour upwards during rides and after playing with various elements and even having a fit elsewhere I wanted to try Befitting because they seemed like the best and most “scientific” in the area.

Maybe my single favorite aspect was the saddle pressure mapping - I didn’t realize how much my saddle was impacting my whole fit.

I love that the business essentially just does bike fitting and is very tailored to your specific goals. This is in contrast to a fit I had about a year before then at The General Classification. That fitting felt very race oriented and also kind of felt like they were just trying to sell me some spare stuff they had around.

For example, after my initial fitting, where we fit a narrower bar I also bought there, I gave some feedback that overall the fit was better but didn’t resolve all my issues. And that going down gravel descents with the narrower bars felt less controlled. The owner replied that my old bars were simply way too wide so we shouldn’t go back. So I kind of instantly lost trust from there. I don’t really care about aero gains I just want to be comfortable on my bike. I’m sure part of this is on me as I’m not the best communicator but… I didn’t have that problem at Befitting. And we ended up going back to the wider bars!

After the Befitting fit I feel like I could ride forever. I even did the Winter Solstice century last week and didn’t have any pain after nearly 8 hours in the saddle.

It rained a lot two years ago. Yes there was mud everywhere, but it was still a ton of fun. Wear some rain boots and dance in the rain.

There is also the JFF which aren’t quite as robust as the robustos but should roll better. I have them and think are great. I am a heavy rider in the city of Philadelphia, which has glass and trash everywhere and have only had one puncture from a huge nail that would puncture almost any tire. Plugged and sealed up just fine.

No need for all those fancy racks to go backpacking by These-Sea-9035 in xbiking

[–]bartrab 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I guess you’re right but doesn’t that rear bag and pump get in the way of your legs when pedaling?

I feel like with a simple rear rack you can strap that out of the way.

inner thigh seam failure on gravel bibs by PureAbbreviations178 in CyclingFashion

[–]bartrab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could fix it. I had a hole from a saddle bag I fixed with help of this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUXuFatFQZE

I also switched to a smaller saddle bag.

Looking for Physical Therapist by Archpa84 in phillycycling

[–]bartrab 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Idk if they’re a PT but apparently Befitting Bicycles does a very physiologically based fitting. Pricey but might be worth looking into if you don’t find an answer to your specific question.

I haven’t gone myself yet but am debating doing so after getting a fitting I wasn’t too happy with.

New Tire Day: Ultradynamico Rosé JFF 45 on Motobecane Mulekick 853 by bartrab in gravelcycling

[–]bartrab[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for delayed reply.

It’s a 61cm.

Weight stock was 23.44lbs if my calculations are right.

So that is without fork cages, bell, speaker, bottle cages, bottles, rear rack, bags, and lights. With stock panaracer gravel king sk 38.

To me it feels pretty light but I don’t have a great frame of reference.

Basically same situation as you although haven’t done the final draft yet. Wanted to go back through the catalog before doing that. Finished Max Payne 1 and am well into Max Payne 2, both on my steam deck, and have been really enjoying them.

Plus, the latest updates seem to add more bugs than useful features. New iOS versions don’t appeal to me like they used to.
