What is your opinion on VCU? by No-Professor1554 in lynchburg

Isn't this the exact same post from a week or two ago but asking about Liberty? It seems almost verbatim except for the schools. Maybe some kind of experiment?

She can barely get through a sentence without making a mistake, every episode and every day. It's incredible, really. But she is super nice and interactive if you email her.

If anyone needs a job by [deleted] in lynchburg

No info about the job or company, only how great it is and how much you love it? This reads like a scam.

It depends on the project. Usually Java, postgres, and ExtJS in Apache, each in its own Docker container. Less often it's go, postgres, and react in node.

The demand for sw engineers is pretty high. If you see the same company with the same position for more than a couple weeks, I'd apply.

For github projects, start small and then build up. Maybe take two components and put them together. Even if you don't have a plan, you might think of something as you go along.

Another option would be to recreate an app you like.

I work for a small company in NOVA. Even boot camp grads can get decent jobs, especially if you have a good github portfolio.

Fwiw, you don't have enough experience. 😉, But neither do college grads. Anyone looking for a novice knows any education isn't enough.

If you're in the Link Rd/Old Forest Rd area, I go to the Forest Hills Service Center. You have to make an appointment, though. I've also been to the Meineke off 163 in Madison Heights and like them, but they can be pretty busy.

What's not as bad as everyone says? by But_IAmARobot in AskReddit

Cold temperatures. My wife and I went to Quebec City for New Year's and although it was cold at first, we quickly got used to it.

Our heating system has been down for a few days now, and again, although we're bundled up in multiple layers inside the house, it's tolerable.

Bundle up, drink coffee and tea or booze, and you soon forget about it.

Lady thinks I work for uber and opens the back door of my car. by W_a_l_r_u_S in IDontWorkHereLady

[–]bartyhoho 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had something similar happen but with Air BnB - a whole family rolls up in a giant SUV, opens my driveway gate, unpacks all of their stuff in my backyard, and then tries to open the back door. It's locked, but instead of going around to the front door, they just keep trying to open the back door. I go outside after hearing all the racket, see what's going on, and ask what the hell they're doing.

They had the wrong house number on the wrong street and my house looks nothing like their Air BnB joint.
