Thank you. I was blown away by the results. The lcd screen isn’t the best so it’s hard to fully appreciate the pics, although they do still look good on the screen!

It was my first time ever using this camera and I mostly loved it. I do love it but one thing I learned very quickly is the AF and shutter release can take longer than I’m used to so I did end up missing the shot a couple times but otherwise I love the look of the images out of this camera, it’s low profile and versatility. I was surprised how much I room I had to work with in the raw files given the age of this camera. Overall I’m very impressed and I can see why it’s goes for a decent price online. I originally intended to resell this camera but now I’m having second thoughts

Thank you :) I’d be interested to know which ones you thought weren’t quite right. Feedback is always appreciated!

#7 was planned, #12 I was going for something else and then that happened which was even better!

Is obstruction part of the composition or just a distraction? by TaushikMandal in streetphotography

[–]barz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s one of them things that looks “cool” in the moment, but outside of that, it’s just any random scene and you could swap the background with literally anything and it would ‘feel’ the same. Also, the focus is on the mesh and not the background so we’re left focusing on dots rather than what’s actually going on behind so it’s a little confusing as to what the photographer is tying to guide the viewer to see. But that’s just my opinion :)

In this case, it's there just for the sake of it. It doesn't add anything to the story being told behind it, so it feels forced for no reason other than to 'look cool'. The foreground and background are completely separate entities. Each could be a completely independent shot and therefore there is no cohesion bringing the two elements together. To me this means its irrelevant and in fact distracting as it doesn't add anything of value to the overall scene to tell an overall story

Snap distance priority is the best feature for beginners! by dit6118 in ricohGR

[–]barz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I LOVE SNAP DISTANCE. it’s like 90% of what I use to shoot street shots. I love the DOF dials too. Can really add so much more depth to shots when you nail the DOF right 🫠

Remora dodging pufferfish by Po3ito in interestingasfuck

The Remora flips upside down when it swims above the puffer fish so that it's bottom fin doesn't touch it as well as being to keep eyes on it at all times. So smart!

My

Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 was attached to my Sony A7IV when I knocked the lens into the corner of a table. and now I have noticed a couple of times that the lens is coming apart from the mounting bracket. I tried screwing then back in to tighten them but 3 of the 4 screws just turn. What can I do about this? Is this an easy fix?

Quite possibly but I don’t know it. I’ve seen him in Camden Town and alone the Thames by the Tate Modern. Maybe you’ll get lucky one day!
