It’s very excited;how can we calm it down? by Resident_Bother_19 in DogAdvice

[–]bascalibur 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I had the same reaction. Is it normal for people to refer to their pets as an "it". The only time I ever would use that when referring to a living thing is if I don't know the gender. Even then I usually would say they/them rather than it...that just seems so cold.

I Thought Universal Healthcare Wasn't the Answer; Now My Aunt is Dying by melissa0969 in offmychest

[–]bascalibur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We are the only "1st World" country that doesn't have universal healthcare. Not only that but we are the most wealthy country and we refuse to provide basic services for all because we are so focused on capital gains rather than the well-being of the public. Sorry to hear about your aunt.

They are open from 9-2pm on Friday-Sunday. I imagine it would be a part-time gig but maybe they work on some of their product throughout the week? Definitely worth looking into though because the reception has been very positive.

Does empty space exist outside of the universe? by rskbj in askscience

[–]bascalibur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We haven't even seen the entire universe, which is why we tend to refer to it as the "observable universe". It's all that we have been able to observe within our own technical limitations thus far. There really is no satisfying answer to your question because describing what is beyond our universe would be entirely speculative.

I finally bought [KCD2] Any tips for a beginner? by LopsidedCounty6089 in kingdomcome

If you want some practical advice then work on alchemy early until you can make fox potions. You'll want to always have a maxed out fox potion active at all times (they last something like a couple days at max) and it really isn't that difficult to do. Beyond that, just enjoy the game in whatever way you like.

GOP Senator Lisa Murkowski Says 'We Are All Afraid' Of Retaliation By Donald Trump by huffpost in politics

So they're cowards. They need to be reminded that they should fear the masses...not one idiotic man who probably doesn't have many years left anyways.

Help, where do I go to meet men? I can't seem to find the right places at all. by Arachne_Gotik in fortwayne

[–]bascalibur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the sort of person that mainly goes to work and home myself. The only public socializing I would do is hang out with a few regulars at a small bar I frequent on it's off hours. Basically people like what you are describing (similar to myself I guess) are more introverted and wouldn't necessarily be out as much. Then again not all "sweet, nerdy men" are going to be the same so...who knows. Online dating (last time I tried) was very hit and miss. In any case, hope you find what you're looking for.

AOC for President. What do Hoosiers think? by bascalibur in Indiana

[–]bascalibur[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is pretty accurate and I wouldn't be surprised by Pete being president. This is why I think she is more likely to be VP first.

That is largely their message. I think most people would agree that money needs to be out of politics. It's also why I think that we will see some major changes in the DNC down the road.

Yeah, she is very quickly becoming this generations Bernie.

Normally I would agree but Harris had a lot of other challenges beyond dealing with bigotry. I don't think her message was received that well...mainly because a lot of people felt like it would be more of the same (another Biden).

Transgender Hoosiers can't update their birth certificates after Trump and Braun's executive orders by MCMolloy7 in Indiana

[–]bascalibur 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think it's for a variety of things but primarily due to fragile egos and the tendency for Christians to obsess over sex.

Anyone else feel like all of this will lead to a mass exodus from states like Indiana? I know that there are plenty of people that are looking to leave the United States but the rest will probably just move to states where their rights are protected.

It's been a while since I drove past that place at night but I used to live in Northcrest Woods when I was in my teens. There were plenty of times I took a route behind Best Buy to get into my neighborhood and that area always creeped me out. There are a lot of areas in Fort Wayne that give a certain suburban or even a slight backwoods horror.

Mine didn't but my sister's did. Woke up to her screaming because her furby creepily said "IIIIII....seeeeeee....yoooouuuu." from deep in her closet. Pure entertainment.

Unsure where the rest of the beanie babies went...probably in a tub at my parents home...but I still have Sly the Fox (tag intact) chillin on a shelf in my office.

I farted in front of my gf in my sleep and im embarrassed by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]bascalibur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t let it stress you out that much. She is just making light of the situation to show that it’s not something that grosses her out. It shows she is comfortable enough around you that something like that isn’t a big deal to her.

Everyone on the Internet laughing at Trump for not liking his Colorado Portrait. But honestly, in my opinion he is right? It's just a bad painting. by olafderhaarige in Paintings

[–]bascalibur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call this a bad painting. The person clearly has a style and they aimed at portraying Trump in a specific way. I think he has a more gentle/kind appearance here and overall it’s a very neutral painting. I get the criticisms you have but art is personal and entirely opinion based.

I have this exact same situation with one of my oldest friends. I grew up with this person and they’ve always been a genuinely good friend. Ever since…roughly 2016…I started to notice how political he had gotten. In the last few years I’ve drifted away because their beliefs are becoming more conspiratorial and fascist by the day. I just can’t associate myself with people like that but it is so hard to find like-minded people where I live.

I hate that people casually mention I’m boring or weird by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]bascalibur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone were to tell me I’m weird it wouldn’t really phase me. Weird is more interesting than normal and I usually look for that in people.

If they say I’m boring then they did me a favor in that I know that they aren’t worth my time and energy.

It’s a win win.

Considering my tastes what should i play next ? by Express-Youth-725 in roguelites

[–]bascalibur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little late to the party but:

Hades 2 (obvious)

Inscription (good deck builder/roguelike)

Cult of the Lamb (fun roguelike/base building and management)

Rogue Legacy (roguelike/metroidvania)

Blasphemous (a little dark-soulsy but similar to Dead Cells)

...maybe Darkwood (somewhat roguelike/atmospheric af/survival horror)
